DS is in year 1, and is the age I was when i started playing the violin. I haven't played since I was about 15 but I've still got my full sized one and he's curious about it, so I think I might try teaching him myself a bit while we're home schooling.
I've measured him and I think he needs a 1/8 size instrument, is there anywhere other than ebay that I could search for a cheap used one?
Can anyone recommend good YouTube videos, apps, books etc to get us started? I did a bit of clapping crotchets and quavers with him today and he's learning quarters in maths and for telling the time, which seems like it might all tie in nicely.
I could do with a book of games of clapping rhythms and copying each other if there is such a thing.
I think I learned using the Kodaly method to start with when I was as young as DS is now, so any resources on that would be particularly appreciated if you have 'em.
Thanks!
