A mummy in another group I’m in was asking about nursery rhymes which didn’t have an American accent. I’m a classical musician, and have also been really struggling to find good-quality music for babies and toddlers which doesn’t drive me mad!
My DD was 3 months when we went into lockdown here in the UK, and it has been a really tough time for me and DH (also a musician), as our industry and income disappeared overnight. After a lot of tears and sleepless nights, we started to record a few of our own nursery rhymes in new arrangements and with real classical instruments. We have just self-released an album called ‘The Classical Nursery’ and would be so grateful if any of you mummies wanted to look us up on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes or Amazon and have a listen. I’m also writing on Instagram under Treble and Trumpet about why classical music is so important for little ones’ development.
I hope it’s ok to post about this as the music is available for anyone to hear for free, so we won’t be making any money from it (only if we get 100 million streams or something!) - and we wanted it to be accessible for all new parents who might be going a bit loopy during this second lockdown
