Good violin advice

DD learns violin at school. It’s worth pointing out we’re not in the UK as the situation is faintly silly by UK standards.

She started last year as part of her school studies. I proposed buying her a Stentor and her teacher looked horrified and a little insulted 🤨

We ended up renting the same place everyone else goes as she was at the end of half size. But she’ll definitely want to be going up to three quarters now and I think I should definitely buy. The teacher at school would want us to throw £800-odd at it I suspect (not happening) but a budget of £300-400 would still pay for itself within 2 years versus the local Atelier.

I KNOW this is ridiculous. I know a good entry level violin would be fine. But if anyone could suspend disbelief and recommend a violin for that price I’d be really grateful. Preferably European as I suspect there’s a prejudice here against Asian makes - I see Yamaha does a well-thought of model but when I mentioned that make to a local mum she looked a bit shocked...
