Surely I cannot be the only person on this board who likes trance music?!

I'm sure there are plenty of people who like dance music on MN, but there's just not much talk about music of any kind on here Sad What sort of stuff do you like? Smile

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 26/02/2019 23:06

No I love it...my fave song although it's prob not classed strictly as trance is Paul Oakenfold Southern Sun...it's so haunting and perfect

Hoopaloop · 02/03/2019 15:39

Ravers collapsing left right and centre 🦒

Hoopaloop · 02/03/2019 15:41

PlinkPlink · 02/03/2019 15:56

I love a bit of classic trance... you know, Loveparade, Ecuador...

My OH has literally thousands of trance records. He used to DJ at parties and stuff. He wants to make a CD now. He's sorting out his record room as we speak 😂 IKEA kallax shelves to the rescue!

He likes more Hard Trance like Mark EG and stuff.

We even trawled through some old Helter Skelter videos on YouTube and he's on them - Cornwall Coliseum I think it was, NYE?

What kind of stuff do you like?

Mumsymumphy · 02/03/2019 16:15

I love old skool trance, circa 1998-2000. Had the time of my life in Ibiza 4 times roundabout then. Still listen to it at home, in the car. On a sunny day I put the car windows down & have it blaring. Would still love to go to a trance rave even now. I'm now a 44 year old primary teacher, sensible mum of 3. V. sensible in work, no-one would ever guess I was a raver in my heyday. I listen to youtube videos of old skool trance & also old skool piano classics (1988 onwards) when the kids are in bed and have mini raves without moving from the sofa in my pjs. I'm still mid 20s in my head.

My preference is house music and early 90's stuff (teenage years).
Trance music then followed for me in my 20's and yes I have to say I liked most of it.
Ayla and For An Angel are probably two of my favourite tunes.
I also had the Space Brothers cd and loved Legacy.

PlinkPlink · 02/03/2019 20:15

@Myomy

God I love 90s stuff.

NRG Need Your Lovin

Awesome 3 Dont Go

But by far my fave has to be Altern8 - Evapor8

Mark archer still does sets on the festival scene and I can't wait to go to Boomtown in a few years and see him!
I was too young to be part of the raving scene but I still liked it, even then!

It'd be great to hear more of peoples faves so I can add them to my playlist actually 🤩

PlinkPlink · 02/03/2019 20:17

@mumsymumphy

Nothing beats Your own home rave in your pyjamas 🤣

In summer I love getting up in the morning and blasting those tunes out before work. Proper mood lifter. I particularly like the 'For The Love of Trance' album that came out couple of years ago. Lush

Racheyg · 02/03/2019 20:29

Used to be a raver.

Think peach at Camden palace, timeless nights at fridge.......

My fave trace tune is join me by light force

Mumsymumphy · 02/03/2019 20:51

God. Trance music has been what I love since two spells in Ibiza in my late teens, followed by my eyes being truly opened by a "girlfriend" and another couple of friends.

The "old" stuff - oceanlab, old armin, atb, tiesto, to the newer stuff, some armin, dash berlin, Gareth Emery, and the female vocalists oh my god, andain, jes, ana criado, Sarah Howells, Lucy Saunders, Jennifer Rene, Emma Hewitt. Could go on forever.

Trance music defines my life. Trance music will be played at my funeral.

SimplySteveRedux · 16/05/2019 00:53

Zocalo.

Sirens of the sea.

Sanctuary.

Don't stop.

Breaking Ties.

Drowning.

Southern Sun.

Last Goodbye.

Everlasting.

Neverland.

Emotional.

Ooh.

Concrete Angel.

Open Your Eyes.

This Night.

Ashley.

Just amazing.

PlinkPlink · 16/05/2019 08:30

I love the idea of trance music being funeral music.

Definitely a celebration of life kind of thing!

SimplySteveRedux · 16/05/2019 10:52

Oh yes, and if my wish isn't followed I've told DS, DD, and DP I'll forever haunt them, lol!
