Headphones for Children

My child has been asking for a headset to listen to music, however I don't know where I stand on this topic. What concerns should I have, and what advantages would this give my child and me. I only want whats best for him, but I feel woefully out of touch with the youth of today, lol.

I should preference this by saying my child is 5 years old, but I do have a friends mum who has a child aged 10, who has voiced similar worries as me.

My kids are a fair bit older. They just have earphones that came with their phones...

Why does your child want a headset? What is he going to listen on? Is it a phone/ipod? What are you worried about - the volume? Are you happy to listen to what he listens to? Another thing my children have are bluetooth speakers - they can listen in their rooms while doing homework.

My main concern was initially the volume, but after looking on the market I see most have audio restriction. I want to promote positive things in his behaviour like any mum does, and im just curious if there is any headphones that could help me with this.

I would monitor his music for a while until he gets older, people have recommended me spotify, in order to choose what he listens to.
