New clarinet advice

I haven't played for years (30+) but fancy taking it up again and having lessons with the aim of possibly joining a 'for fun' orchestra if I can find one. I was Grade 5 then but have forgotten practically everything although I can still get some notes and am ok at reading music.

I have my old Armstrong clarinet (30+ years) but am guessing this was a starter type instrument. I appreciate I am a false beginner but wondered if there was something better out there. Any advice please?

Thanks for your reply. That's great advice about the concert bands - I shall look into them. Living with a string playing DD, and only having played in school orchestras myself (everyone was welcome!), I'd forgotten that clarinets aren't in such great demand.

I shall go along to my local music shop and ask them to take a look at my clarinet and see if they know of any sympathetic adult teachers.

Looking forward to it!
