No I bloody don't. I was quite enjoying TOTP2 until Cliff popped up and have now been forced to watch some Jamie Oliver lamb shite instead - and yes Cliff, I am blaming you.

mercurymaze · 22/12/2017 20:56

not really sorry Grin

When I was right I used to love cliff- I got over it, but sadly still know all the words to Wired for Sound Xmas Blush

hugoagogo · 22/12/2017 20:59

Eight not right ffs

mercurymaze · 22/12/2017 21:00

when i was at secondary we had to bring in our favourite records and a girl in my class was obsessed with cliff (around 1982) though it was right odd even then

Hassled · 22/12/2017 21:02

Was Wired For Sound the roller-skating one? He was too old for roller-skating, even in the 80s.

hugoagogo · 22/12/2017 21:07

It was indeed the rollerskating/walkman one Xmas Grin

Ijustlovefood · 22/12/2017 21:15

That song is in everyone's head now Xmas Grin

OP posts:
mercurymaze · 22/12/2017 21:18

she brought in a whole album but yes it was wired for sound shit that is catchy tune

ACertainRatio · 22/12/2017 21:38

Cliff has moments of genius: Wired for Sound, Devil Woman, We Don't Talk Anymore, In The Country.

Mistletoe and Wine, Saviours Day and Millennium Prayer are not moments of genius Grin

Ijustlovefood · 23/12/2017 07:32

I think he's had quite a few Xmas number ones though. I like them. They're catchy. However I think most xmàs songs are.

I actually quite like Mistletoe and Wine. It does that “bringing religion back into Christmas” thing quite well imo.

Ijustlovefood · 23/12/2017 07:39

I'm not religious but I like the message in the songs

I’ve hated Cliff Richard and his crap songs, fir many many years.

So much so that it’s a family joke and my teenage DDs used to buy me a CR calendar every year for Xmas. Oh how funny I found that Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin —It went straight into the recycling—

Anyway they stopped doing that after his recent “incident” with the police, so every cloud has a silver lining.

CocaColaTruck · 23/12/2017 07:58

There are not enough words to describe how much I loathe Mistletoe and Wine and Saviour's Day - let alone the bastardisation of Auld Lang Syne.

Crimes against music.
