Why is 'In the Air Tonight' so good?

This is one of those songs that, if you ask me, I'd never remember to list it as a favourite.
But I just love it. It's one of the few songs that make me feel so much at once. If I hear it in the background, I end up with it on repeat for hours.

I lead a pretty boring life, but whenever I hear 'I can feel it coming.....', I feel like something big is going to go down, and I'm ready. Or I feel like I should be reminiscing about that time I lived as a Goodfella.

There must be others who feel like this when they hear it? What is about the song?

It's those epic drums It is a brilliant song, I love it. It has a brilliant build up too before the singing even starts.
