I love orchestral songs-Jonny cash does bird on a wire with an orchestra, Bjork-hyperballad with the Brodsky quartet & Guillemots-Sao Paulo with some big orchestra. All very rousing!

Can anyone recommend anything else that I might enjoy along the same vein?

Metallica did an album with the San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra. It's excellent!

Thanks-will check it out. Not normally a metal fan but one of my favourite albums is by Mark Kozelek & it's a cover of AC/DC songs, they are totally transformed & it's ace!

Don't know if this is up your street, but I've just had Pete Tong classic house with The Heritage Orchestra. I love it! Really good reviews on Amazon too.
