Bit of a copy from the 2015 thread, but thought I would get the ball rolling for 2016! Grin

So far, I have tickets for:

Wolfmother
Jeff Lynne's ELO
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow

So, what about you guys?

So far:

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott (x2)
Kaiser Chiefs

I bought one lot of tickets for PH&JA for their March tour for a local venue and then just before Christmas they were announced as playing one of the nights on Forest Live, in the woods within walking distance and that's too good to miss. Might try and sell the March ones as they're for a venue which I hate. Kaiser Chiefs are also playing Forest Live.

Slipknot this Saturday and Jeff Lynne in April so far. I saw Abba Mania last week but not sure that quite countsConfused

iwillbemrsminty · 12/02/2016 16:05

Bryan Adams in May. Uber excited! And (not a music gig but..) Sarah Millican in September.

FoxFeatures · 12/02/2016 16:17

ACDC I'm going with DH who loves them. Me no so much.

notquiteruralbliss · 20/02/2016 16:49

Libertines in Amsterdam and Brusselss in March. Nothing else booked so far.

velourvoyageur · 21/02/2016 21:09

awww, ELO! love them! Had all their music as a teen, listened to Discovery/Time/Out of the Blue alll the time, so many mixtapes, picked up LPs in charity shops cos they were cheaper than CDs. Have an amazing night :)

Para One & Boston Bun @ the Nest next week, if I'm not too poor!

would so love to see Cassius this year but don't think that's gonna happen

booked Paris for Easter hols so hope I'll catch something cool when I'm there

velourvoyageur · 21/02/2016 21:10

(not really a gig per se but ya know)

HooseRice · 21/02/2016 21:10

Adam Ant in June, can't wait

cheekymonk · 21/02/2016 21:25

Ellie Goulding and Coldplay Smile

romanrainsalot · 07/03/2016 10:17

Any of you taking DCs or experience of DCs at concerts?
After some hints/tips.
When we heard Jeff Lynne's ELO was touring we had to get tickets DH and DS (age 5) are massive fans.
Do you recommend ear defenders for kids?
Thanks

kally195 · 17/03/2016 18:33

Low in April
Radiohead in May
Greenman festival in August

Very, very excited for all of them!

SimonLeBonOnAndOn · 17/03/2016 18:40

Coldplay in June.
Saw Ellie Goulding last week, she was brilliant.

Saw Adam Ant a few years ago Hoose, he was awful I'm afraid.

SymphonyofShadows · 22/03/2016 10:03

I've seen Adam Ant quite a bit. He can be great and he can be awful, he is very inconsistent.

I saw The Stranglers last week doing the whole Black and White album and other songs. Not much else booked for this year yet apart from smaller bands. I'm still deciding whether to see PIL again as I saw them fairly recently, and I've seen them a lot over the past couple of years.

Anyone else thinking of booking seats from now on? I'm too old and short for the pit these days.

kelper · 22/03/2016 10:05

roman we took DS to see One Direction a couple of years ago dont judge, he loves them and he wore ear defenders, but he is very sensitive to loud noises. I think they were about £6 on amazon and they worked well.

We're seeing The Boss in June, seat booking has happened because DH and his friend requested them!!

slug · 22/03/2016 11:06

The Chills (old Kiwi band)
Melanie Martinez (no idea, DD wanted to go so I'm accompanying her)
The On Blackheath festival where Primal Scream are headlining

More will follow. Live music is DH's hobby, and one I'm quite happy to indulge him in to be honest.

EyesOfABlueDog · 15/04/2016 16:59

Saw a-ha recently, they were amazing! Would love to go to Norway to see them.
Would also love to go see Duran Duran on their US tour, saw them in December and they were brilliant.
Nothing else planned yet.

MadisonAvenue · 15/04/2016 17:06

Eyes, I love Duran Duran and have seen the countless times since the early 80s but I've not seen their latest two tours - they've such a vast back catalogue of brilliant stuff yet the set list rarely changes.

Adding Wheatus and Beans On Toast to my list, both in May. We have a small alternative music venue opening just down the road and both shows are there.

EyesOfABlueDog · 15/04/2016 18:40

Yes, I know what you mean Madison, they churn out all the oldies don't they lol - they did do a few from Paper Gods which I love.

MargotsDevil · 18/04/2016 23:28

Just been to the Muse Drones gig at the SSE Hydro. Epic. Amazing set and special effects, music just amazing.

LadyBaelish · 22/04/2016 10:13

I saw Muse last week, have tickets for The Offspring in June and just booked for Skinny Lister in October. Hoping to add at least one Frank Turner show by the end of the year too!

Ludways · 22/04/2016 10:27

I'm seeing Placebo in Leeds on 3rd December, really looking forward to it.

EmmanuelleMumsnet · 22/04/2016 22:22

Belle and Sebastian in June.

And have just come back from a festival (All Tomorrow's Parties) which has kind of blown my gig and holiday budget for the year ;)

timelytess · 22/04/2016 22:25

Saw The Gloaming in London in Feb, and Iarla O'Lionaird and Steve Cooney in Dun Laoghaire a couple of weeks ago. Planning Luka Bloom twice in May, Folkfest Killarney in July (might cancel), The Gloaming Manchester in September, Christy Moore Manchester in October.

SymphonyofShadows · 20/05/2016 11:13

Managed to get a box seat for the Damned at the Royal Albert Hall tonight for the 40th anniversary. Excited is an understatement, Mr Vanian was my first (imaginary) love. He's not bad now either.
