Anyone play the tenor horn?

I have just somewhat recklessly, considering my ripe old age of 43, agreed to learn the tenor horn and join the training band of the brass band dh plays with!

Ds and dd are joining (cornet and flugelhorn respectively ) and I figured I might as well join them as I'll have to take them to practice anyway. I'm really missing doing something musical (have been in choirs in the past and played flute when young).

But... I've never played a brass instrument! How hard is the tenor horn? Am I too old to learn?!

Ds does. He took it up because he is dyspraxic and the keying is straightforward. Main issue is having pieces in the correct key. He plays to an ok standard with minimal practice
