My 14 year old's turned to the dark side. She's obsessed with the likes of Harry Styles etc. I need help to bring her back to the land of the living. Please.

Just treat it as a temporary thing. She'll likely change to something else once her hormones calm down.

I've always been into metal/rock, but even I had a mid teenage thing about Duran Duran, which eventually died away and I returned to the better stuff. I'm not that old, not really Grin

I have been brainwashed. Both albums are played on a loop in the car and now I think they're great. Took dds to see them in concert and think I screamed more than them.

There, I've said it.

Thankfully my DDs hate then, they really are crap.
DD2 like JLS but she's only 11 and DD1 likes Muse so she's OK.

Luckily, my dc are still dictated by me when it comes to music. My 4 year old knows lyrics to Misfits and Iron Maiden; so proud! Haha.

Hopefully by the time they're older there will be no more 1D though probably another similar band!

Concernedchild, I feel your pain! I was an indie-teen and cannot understand DD's interest in so much of the crap pop/X-factor stuff. Thankfully she does like strong female voices too!

My 7 year old loves them

I know all the words to their songsBlush

But, yes they are an abomination

MrsHelsBels74 · 23/07/2013 09:04

They are appalling & the quicker they fall from grace the better. Luckily my two boys are too young to be even aware of their existence but my time will come!

Am really bored of seeing Harry Styles' face everywhere.

They had these huge life size cut outs in my local Primark. They were priced at a tender. I asked the women behind the counter if they sold many.

The thousand in the last week in that store alone Shock Shock
