Music your 12 year old likes

Which tracks does your 12 pre-teen/teenager listen to?

Mine is, so far, heavily influenced by us. She likes the Arctic Monkeys, the Killers, the Kaisers, and, in the recent charts, Adele, Ed Shearer. She's not fond of X Factor music at all and doesn't like 'gangster' stuff. She likes Florence and doesn't mind Calvin Harris. But what, oh what, could I get for her that she'd like?

I'm an old mom so I'm just trying to stay vaguely cool...any suggestions?

Grease? Dirty Dancing? maybe a bit too young, but these are classics! get the DVDs - watch together, then get the cds.

Dd1 went through a Mamma Mia phase when she was 12. Now 14 she prefers Ed Sheeran, Adele, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse. Her faves tend to be solo singers rather than indie groups.
She absolutely refuses to consider Grease - either music or DVD.

Nullius, I suggested Grease and it failed on two scores. Firstly it's a musical and DH has raised dd to be a proper musical hater. Secondly, it was 'old fashioned'. She has an aversion for anything old media wise. I have been trying for 4 years now to get her to watch either Wizard of Oz or Wonderful Life with me at Christmas. She just says no. I did sneak in Princess Bride, though...and that went down a storm :) Kids, eh? Who can figure em out? On the music front, I think I'll just keep flicking on MTV til I get a picture of what she does/doesn't like. Maybe that'll help me with my trendy gaps too :) Thanks for the advice.
