.. obviously DD is aware of pop music as her older cousins have the Now series CDs, but listening to the songs the lyrics are a bit off for what I would like a 6 year old to be singing, and band / singer albums usually have tracks on I don't thinks she's old enough for (my younger cousin was listening to Katy Perry and I listened to the Peacock song and thought 'No waaay is DD having this'
I find half the msuic has lyrics (Obviously) inappropraiet for a young child and the other half usually drivel about being in love and generally anything that sounds like wrong direction.
DD loves listeing to Florence and the Machine in the car so she's used to that and calls it fairy music, and she likes Feist albums (!) so I was thinking of buying her them. There is also a Now that's waht I call Disney she will like.. but what other things? She has been trying to sing 'I got a feeling..' but that's going back into chart music stuff.
I wouild like to point out, that everyone has their own ideas about what's suitable and if some one's 3 year old can dance just like Lady Gaga and they're happy with that then f ine, I ain't pulling on any judgey pants / creating bunfight over musical differences
I just realised how badly behind I am with music recently.. another neglected are af life post dc! Sob!
Really would appreciate aney suggestions so DD will have her 'own' DCs for her birthday!
