I'm getting very excited now Grin.Dh has gone off this morning to Sunderland. He'll queue all day in the rain to get into the pit, then drive to his mates in Manchester and go to queue at the Etihad. Meanwhile I get to take the dc (10 & 7) to their first concert tomorrow at the Etihad. The weather forecast is terrible for both concerts though Sad. Hope the rain holds off for a while at least.

I'm insanely jealous! My parents are there right now in the rain soaked pit, and are going tomorrow too.

I'm going to Hyde Park in a few weeks though. Can't wait!

northender · 21/06/2012 20:28

Dh was 646 in the queue but said it was all a bit shambolic as the security guards weren't on board with the pit rituals of Sprinsteen fans Grin. I've been watching the setlist so far on a fan site and it looks excellent, he opened with Badlands. Have been playing the kids back to back Boss tonight and as you can tell from my inane chatter I'm now very excited!

Hyde Park should be good. We saw him there a couple of years ago.

Wow! Opening with Badlands! Great way to start!
I was at Glasgow a few years back, and the security guards didnt have a clue about 'the pit' there either! The fans took it upon themselves to arrange the numbers!
I was at hyde park last time too! Brilliant show! As are all bruce's shows Grin
I've also had my Bruce playlist on loud all day. Trying to initiate DS into the Church of Bruce. He's only two, so a long way to go, but he does the fist pump and says 'brrruuuuuuce' Grin.

Oh plenty of time. My ds, now 10 used to ask us to play the Rising album again and again in the car when he was about 2. Hasn't heard any of the tracks for ages and when I played it to him tonight he loved it and remembered a lot. If your little one gets it from grandparents as well then there is no escape for him.
I knew nothing much more than Born in the USA and Dancing in the Dark before I met dh 18 yrs ago, submission is the easiest option Grin. I hope the setlist tomorrow is as good as tonights so far

  1. Badlands
  2. We Take Care Of Our Own
  3. Wrecking Ball
  4. Death To My Hometown
  5. My city of ruins
  6. Spirit in the night
  7. Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street....!
  8. Jack of all trades
  9. Youngstown
10. Murder incorporated 11. Johnny 99 12. Working on the highway 13. Shackled and drawn 14. Waitin' on a sunny day 15. The promised land 16. Point blank 17. The river

The Rising is a great album!
Setlist from tonight looks amazing.
I'm sure your DC will have a great time at their first Bruce concert, despite the rubbish weather!

Piccalilli2 · 22/06/2012 04:59

Me me me! Off to etihad and cannot wait, missed the last tour as I was heavily pregnant. I saw the rising tour at crystal palace and it was amazing

Buriedundernappies · 22/06/2012 13:47

Hope you all have a brilliant time!! Am very jealous! Grin

Cupawoman · 22/06/2012 13:54

I saw him at Sunderland last night. T'was indeed a fantastic show. Always concerns me when the fans shout Brooooooce in case he thinks they're booing him but apparently it has always been this way and he knows what they're doing.

Saw him back in the eighties twice and he's as electric as ever. Have a great time when you go!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 23/06/2012 19:36

Mr M and I are going to the Hyde Park concert as well in a couple of weeks time:).

northender · 23/06/2012 21:43

Well it was fab! He was on stage for 3 and a half hours. The rain stopped just before he came on stage and then there were only a couple of very brief showers during the concert. However by that time dd (7) was wet and cold and wanted to go home. Once he was on stage, she bopped with the best of them and soon warmed up Grin. At about 1015 she started to flag but I made her stay standing and she loved all the encore songs especially BTR. ds (10) took it all in his stride and loved every minute. Both have said they want to go again. Dh got his position at the front but at the end declared he's getting too old for all the queueing!

The clips of Clarence on the big screen during 10th Avenue were really moving.

Glad you enjoyed it cupawoman. The Bruuuuce thing does sound like booing but he definitely knows by now.

Attila you'll have a great time.

He was amazing. Better even than bramall lane in 88 and crystal palace on the rising tour. I cried when they did the Clarence tribute. How cool was jake?

northender · 23/06/2012 22:30

Jake was so cool. A great alternative, another larger than life character but different.
