Any Country and Western fans out there care to recommend me some music?

I am a total music head but lately I've headed in a strange direction (for me).

Someone said I'd sound good singing Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood so I looked it up and it blew me away. I'd love to hear some more great country but other than Dolly I'm pretty clueless. Can anyone recommend me some tracks/ artists?

Try Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler, Christina Perri, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill

Tim Mcgraw, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Brad Paisley

I love Sugarland, Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert.

When you've exhausted C and W try Blue Grass - Alison Krauss

Will do - I do love the O Brother where art thou soundtrack so I can definitely handle a bit of bluegrass too :)

I don't like modern country, I only like the old stuff.
It's not that popular now, but I think there's nothing like it.

Jean Shephard is one of my favourites.

Here are some of hers

Sorry, Jean Shepard.

And of course, there is the greatest country singer of all time - the legendary Patsy Cline

I came across a duo on you tube recently and immediately downloaded their album - on the strenght of one song. The bands called The Civil Wars and the blow away song is Poison and Wine.

Very folk/bluegrass sound, but its the sheer wonder of their two voices harmonising perfectly that will give you the chills.

Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart although they're classed more as Americana and I also love KD Lang "Shadowland".
