Could someone please recommend an album of orchestra music suitable for a pleb?

I mean music that's played by violins and clarinets and a whole orchestra with a conductor. And the ladies wear posh black frocks. Philharmonic sort of stuff.

I want stuff that I know. This will mostly be car advert soundtracks I expect.

And air on a g-string. I like that one.

I don't mind a bit of operaish singing on it, but I think I want mostly instrumental.

Something terribly relaxing and inspiring for when I'm in labour.

Thank you.

Signed, A. Pleb.

I think dh had something called smooth fm, a cd. Google it, it could be just what you're after.

Mozart symphonies will generally be relaxing, not sure inspiring.

If you like relaxing you could try which is just piano but i think it is very peaceful (it is called "Le Onde" - "Waves".

I'll have a think about great orchestral pieces....

Maybe Vivaldi's 4 seasons (here is )

I also love Dvorak's though my 4 year old thinks it's the star wars music!

and i know the purists (or anyone with general taste) will slate me but i love the soundtrack to

but not sure if all these are relaxing enough for childbirth, though they may be distracting enough!

I shall investigate all those mentioned. Thank you.

Is there such an album as "Now That's What I Call Posh Music!" ? That would be ideal. That would definitely have air on a g-string on it.
