Would it be wrong to take my 8 years old son to a "Plan B" gig ?

I am contemplating taking DS 8 to a Plan B gig at Westonbirt arboretum, Gloucestershire. It looks like a lovely event, in the forest, relaxed and family friendly.
My DS loves their music and has a few Plan B songs on his ipod.
I am aware of the swearing and wonder if it is a bad parenting; although I know he would love it.
He saw them briefly at the Wireless festival last year but we were there mainly for the Black eyed peas, so didn?t feel that bad. He loved the experience.

I regularly take my 10 year old to gigs and festivals, and I saw a lot of young children at a big festival I went to last year (R1BW). My 19yo has been coming to gigs with me for longer than i care to remember!!

I say it's fine if you think your little one would enjoy it and wouldnt be fazed by crowds, toilet situation etc. The younger they get started the better imo!!

Plan B is a great actor and artist but he is explicit - very much so.
Personally I wouldn't take an 8 year old.

My DS started going to gigs on a regular basis at 13.
When was he on and did you go?

Westonbirt is lovely, but people do behave there just the way they do at any gig. So keep in mind that the nice little relaxed spot with a decent view of the stage that you found will suddenly become a crush of people once the main act starts.

Oh dear, waa, waa, kids hear a musician saying a rude word and their heads will immediately explode and then they will get into DRUGS and GANGS and NOT DOING THEIR HOMEWORK and all sorts of shit.

Plan B, well, Drew whatsit is a sweaty gimp who wrote at least one rape-apologist song but he sings nicely. And kids will hear worse language and worse messages elsewhere, so by all means take your DS along - above all, it's good for DC to see music performed live so they get the idea that music is something people do rather than just consume.

Did you get tickets for your son.
I didn't know he was playing at Delamere Forest otherwise I would have got tickets myself!
