Lady Gaga?

My initial reaction to her was one of "oh look, another "shocking" pop act". But I'm now beginning to wonder if she's worth a listen? Bearing in mind I'm much more inclined towards the rock end of the music scale.

(Favourite bands - Manics/Garbage/Sisters of Mercy/The Damned/etc)

Would you say it's worth a listen? And which album would you recommend I start with if it is?

As a pop singer I think she is great. (Not my usual genre of music!)
For a publicity seeker - I don't mean that in a negative way- she is top class.

I have seen interviews and she comes across as well mannered and interesting.
She is a talented pianist

She puts her money where her mouth is when it comes to promoting causes. She has helped raise more than $1.5 mil for Japan and is involved in HIV causes.
She she has an over the top image but it is all part of the theatre.
