A good place in the south west to see an orchestra

DH would like to go, have been to opera before but not orchestra. I think he would prefer something reasonably known rather than obscure.

I found a few on at St David's Hall in Cardiff, but none on dates I can surprise him with, they will all need him to get time off work.

Any ideas?

Have a look at stuff in the Bristol area, including the amateur things. The University of the West of England have a choir and orchestra. Watch out for my SIL in the alto line or brandishing a cello!

thanks DrSeuss, have found lots of links through that suggestion- St George's and the Coulston Hall classical season, huge list of amateur orchestras, I had no idea!Smile
