Piano stools are expensive!! DD is currently using a Yamaha keyboard; Will I get away with buying a drum stool? They're so much cheaper!!Blush

Have you looked at a keyboard stool? they have a cross stand base like many of the x stands for the keyboards and are available from about £20 on Amazon. As a music teacher, I wouldn't recommend a drum stool. Posture is really important for playing the keyboard/piano and ensuring your daughter is sat comfortably and at the right height is important. I learned the piano from age 6, and we didn't have a piano stool. I used a kitchen chair, which was the right height for me and for that piano. Obviously I was taught not to slouch or lean back.

When DH and I married, the PIL gave us some money with which we bought a piano. It came with a proper stool. I think I was almost more excited about the stool than the piano [bgrin]

I would hang fire and see if you have an appropriately sized chair before you buy anything specific.

Bluefootedpenguin a keyboard stool! Of course! Why didn't I think of that??? I've ordered one from Amazon already. Brilliant, thanks.

EvilTwins we do have stokke chairs but it's a pain to be dragging them from one room to another. Thanks for you reply.
