for a 30th birthday party.

we are very (ahem) cool people, honest, so there will be no, (or at least minimal) cheese. No JLS, no Take That, no S Club 7 (sorry). Please leave the thread now if this offends Smile

I've done some playlists already which have been used for DJing at weddings, but my iTunes library is lacking more recent choonage, and we're not really aiming for a wedding vibe here.

to set the tone somewhat, so far I have things like:

the killers
michael jackson
beyonce
beastie boys
kanye
justin timberlake
gorillaz
tribe called quest
pulp
MIA
stone roses
kings of leon
santogold

but I need more stuff!

If you are also cool (like me) what would you want to hear at our party, either for dancing (in a cool way obv) or in the background whilst you hold charming and witty conversations over a G&T?

Nero - Me and You

Cool new tunage.

I'll make some more suggestions when I have more time.

LyraSilvertongue · 14/01/2011 14:54

You'll need to listen beyond the first minute as there's a long intro on that vid.

LowLevelWhiiingeing · 14/01/2011 20:47

Great, thanks Lyra!

I've done the same request on FB and people coming to the party are requesting Lionel Richie and tiger feet Hmm

They don't seem to realise this is a party for COOL people.

exactly Lyra. I'm redirecting them to the wedding at the liberal club in 1988 that they clearly thought they were coming to.
