Songs suggestions for a "this is your life in photos" cd

Am putting together a cd of photos and music for my dad's 70th from when he was little to now and need some appropriate music on there.

I've got Queen "these are the days of our lives" which is brilliant words which really fit but need some inspiration for other songs.

Cheers Smile

Thank you for the days.
(KIrsty MacColl) (though I think it might talk about "being gone" at some point!)
You Raise Me Up.

What a lovely idea!

Would he like the Quality Street song, Magic Moments, or maybe Memories are Made of This.
Are he and your mum happily married, is quite popular with the older generation, but it focusses more on the marriage. It may not be appropriate.
I love Days too, though to me it seems like a funeral song, sorry! Try to locate the Luke Kelly version, if you can.

Thanks, Bucharest. Who sings you raise me up?

Have only done part of it so far with my photos and the queen song and it makes me cry already when I watch it in movie maker. Loads of photos of him at my wedding,on family days out, with his 12 grandchildren (he is so hands on with them all, the best!).

The queen song words are so right for this, really gets to me.

Will listen to those walking. Cheers.

No definitely not like a funeral song to me, just sum up the happy memories (there are millions when you start looking at the photos).

Ah, "you raise me up" is lovely.

Another tear jerker when you put it to the photos.

It's what I have on dd's montage thingy...because she does raise me up Smile

You've given me a lovely idea for my Mum and her sister next year btw! Thankyou!

You're welcome! Am sure they will love it!

My dad did a video one of the grandchildren sledging last year and put it to " don't stop me now". Was brilliant and the kids (and me) all love it. He put credits on at the end, all their names.
