yep, fortnight today in Sheffield. Am going as DH ants to go, I think it will be a good night though.

Ex went to see them in the summer. He said they were great, but really I think it's a bit of a throwback, I hate seeing 'old' groups and would never have gone with him.

Saw the Velvet Underground many years ago at Glastonbury and it was dire...it put me off the whole retro gig thing.

I am seeing them in Blackpool and am really excited.
I love seeing old bands. I have not been disappointed much (except for the New York Dolls who were dire)

well, at least they never split up and got back together for the money.

Blackpools a great venue though so Im sure you will have a fab time! have afew drinks!

how was Blackpool?

Kittya, it was really good. A fantastic crowd and a great set. I was skanking along with the best of them. I love the Empress ballromm in the winter gardens, it has a sprung floor so when things get bouncing, it really gets bouncing.

how was the support. My friend said they had a bigger turn out then when he went to see The Specials last year.

Support was Paul Heaton from the Beautiful South and before that the Housemartins. I thought he did a fantastic job of warming up the crowd. I didn't go and see the Specials last year because the tickets were £45 each. Which is a rip off for the venue. Probably why they didn't get a good turn out.

the BS are still going I heard, I dont know how without the frontman.
