I am soooo jealous!!

Scootergrrrl · 24/10/2010 08:54

Oh my goodness. I need to break out my Doc Martens and little flowery dress! I loved the Levellers and the Wonderstuff. Best song?

MegGriffin · 24/10/2010 09:54

Wonderstuff - Mission Drive, Circle square, I didn't like you very much.....there are so many. Levellers: Far from home, Riverflow and of course One way. They are at quite a few venues, not just Brixton. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!

Thanks to the wonder of iTunes I have just had the DCs dancing round the living room to Don't Let Me Down Gently and The Devil Went Down To Georgia. My personal favourites!

MegGriffin · 24/10/2010 14:08

I'm seeing Miles Hunt on Saturday - he's guesting at Whitby Goth Weekend with Wayne Hussey.

Hup! [hgrin]

MegGriffin · 24/10/2010 15:56

Wow that will be excellent!

two words.....HOPE STREET

upahill · 18/11/2010 17:16

Not keen on the Wonderstuff but I've seen the Levellers loads of times.

We were on about this the other day in the office. A few are planning to go to Manchester to see them but I'm not sure.

(Too busy looking forward to seeing the Cult and Band of Horses!!)

bintofbohemia · 18/11/2010 17:17

I'm going to this too! They're doing the whole of Levelling the Land, I can't bloody wait!

ChippyMinton · 18/11/2010 17:19

ooh.
Mind you, the last time I saw Miles Hunt (on his own) he was a grumpy git...totally blew my crush. Sad

upahill · 18/11/2010 17:23

The pictures of Miles Hunt on Wikipedia make him look like Alan Carr. (which is not a good thing)

iridium · 22/11/2010 13:03

I saw Miles Hunt at the Pop Will Eat Itself reunion tour a few years back and he had a distinct used car salesman vibe about him.

DP says he's been a grumpy git since the 80s too. Grin

Oooh - just seen this thread. I am going too but in Manchester. Am sooo excited. I have never seen the Wonderstuff live but used to see the Levellers live a lot when I was younger Smile

southeastastra · 13/01/2011 09:25

would prefer to miss our the levellers part Grin

southeastastra · 13/01/2011 09:25

ooh i loved pwei - i miss them so much

prettymaryk · 13/01/2011 09:26

i used to be such a crusty. can't really listen to the levs any more, think i overdosed :)

ShowOfHands · 13/01/2011 09:27

OOOOH.

I walked down the aisle to a Levellers song. I love both bands. But have been pretty disappointed with the Levellers more recent stuff. Plus the price of their gigs just got ludicrous. We used to see them all the time in the local student union but last time they came here it was ££ and the gig was a bit rubbish.

Hope they're returning to form. They are excellent.

bucksmum · 13/01/2011 09:31

I have tickets for Brixton too - can't wait!!!

Notalone · 13/01/2011 09:32

I am hoping both bands play more of the old stuff than the newer stuff. At least I will recognise most of it then. I used to love both bands. The best Levellers concerts I went to were the ones at the free London festivals - Hackney Homeless and Brockwell Park. Aahhh - they were the days!

GoldenGreen · 13/01/2011 09:33

the 8 Legged Groove Machine tour last year was fab

dd would have been called Miles if she'd been a boy

MegBusset · 14/01/2011 21:10

£25 a ticket for Norwich

Am always gobsmacked how much gigs cost these days. I remember when £10 was considered a lot for a London gig!

upahill · 16/01/2011 14:02

I've been too slow and the tickets have sold out at the Academy. But I'm not over bothered as I've seen the Levellers loads and not fussed about the Wonderstuff.
I would have got some tickets up when I go to pick tickets for Band of Horses tomorrow.

Never mind

Flame · 16/01/2011 14:37

I'm seeing them in Bournemouth :)
