Can someone help me with a transposition question?

DS1 & I play the E flat (Alto) sax.

We have an electronic keyboard on which you can upload various accompaniments and then play along - reading the accompanying music. The keyboard starts at concert pitch, but there is an option to transpose up or down a key, in semitone increments.

How many increments up/down do I need to transpose to play along on the sax?

Sorry only just seen this.

Alto sax sounds a major 6th below what is written, so you would need to transpose the keyboard down 8 semitones.

Written C sounds as the E flat below it.

(Is that right anyone - I am always a bit woolly about this sort of thing)
