I really love listening to o mio babbino caro by puccini.
What would you recommend that has a similar feel to it?

La boheme - beautiful.

Or if you don't want to listen to a whole opera, buy a compilation by a singer you like.

Or try just some other light classical music, not neccesarily opera.

Puccini wrote:

La Boheme
Gianni Schicchi (which o mio is from)
Tosca
Madame Butterfly
Turandot

IMO Tosca is the best of the lot.

Try a bit of Verdi if you want a different composer. He's a bit earlier, but same kind of grandiose stuff.

La Traviata
Rigoletto
Aida
Othello

are some of them - La Trav probably the most famous. Verdi also wrote a requiem which you could try which if you like you could branch out to:

Rossini
Brahms
Faure
Mozart

who also all wrote requiems and lots of other stuff for voice and instruments.

From there - anything you like!

Listen to Tosca and La Boheme. Super-mega-romantic.

listen to Faure's Requiem, if possible being sung by the Kings College Choir - I've sung it myself too and it was so emotional even when singing it.

Thank you.
At least I have somewhere to start now.
