I’m wanting to take my son to Spain nxt year but I can’t manage on my own and was just wondering where to look for a carer to come with me ( I have spinal injuries ) but can walk ds2 will be 16 ( he’s got SN) so if he does a runner I won’t be able to catch him. Does anybody know where I could get help. Last time I went away was 3 years ago took my DD her bloke and two kids . But can’t afford to pay for them again her bloke took the mick.( long story )

I'm sorry you haven't had any answers yet @Girraffe1968. I don't actually know the answer myself but I'm bumping for you in case someone else does! It's a quiet topic here.

Would your local social services be able to give you any advice? If it's not too late!

I'd say check with social services, and ring some local care companies. There's bound to be someone :) I hope you get your holiday. I have spinal injuries and understand the struggles.

I will ask them thanks

I’d ask for a referral for some direct payments to fund this at your council. But I doubt you will get it for this summer, but you can get a list of verified support workers from them for now.
Also have you had a carers assessment done? You have rights as well as your son.
