Can anyone tell me what happened at their ADHD appointment?

I went to my GP to ask for an adhd Assessment back in October, he made the referral and I filled in the self report forms. Then I got a letter to ask more about my symptoms because I don't have anyone who knows me from childhood so I wrote a long letter about how I'm affected etc. they made the redeem but said it would be 2-4 YEARS to be seen as funding has been cut so dramatically.

I have had a call today from the place that deals with all MH stuff in this area and they've asked me to come in on Tuesday to see a psychiatrist in regards to my referral.

I am bricking it! I wasn't expecting anything this quickly and I don't know if it will be a preliminary appointment to chat to a psychiatrist about everything or an assessment or what. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect please?

I had mine yesterday by video call. It seemed to be the same questions that I had answered on the forms. At the end of the appointment I was given an appointment he explained what the next steps would be, I have a heart thing which means I can’t start on medication straight away.

Thanks, were you given a diagnosis or do you need to go back for an actual assessment.

I was given the diagnosis yesterday at the end of the assessment. Because I need an ecg ( I think that’s what he called it, it’s a heart trace thing) I can’t start medication yet as they need to check my heart but I was also told that some kind of therapy is also available.

Sorry if that’s a bit jumbled my memory isn’t that great so can’t remember word for word.
