Autism or add?

Hi this is for me.

Growing up I lived in a dream world. I had food and sensory issues. I had few friends and was bullied for being 'different' at home and school. When my ds began to show signs of autism (diagnosed at 3) I started researching and realised I have a lot of the signs of autism and/or add. These include -
In my own world a lot of time
Struggle with concentration
Have specific interests
Miss social cues
Tend to make things about me
Struggle with social situations
Limited diet
Fidgety can't sit or stand still for long periods
Struggle to relax
Have set routines get anxious with change
Struggle to recognise when I annoy people
Struggle to make/keep friends
Often feel exhausted/overwhelmed
Struggle to listen to others

I've been considering speaking to gp re referral but don't want to sound vague. Does these symptoms sound more like autism or add? I did some online tests and came out highly likely on both.

ASD and ADHD can present together so it's very possible that you have both.

I'm diagnosed with ADHD and the psychiatrist who diagnosed me recommended I look into an ASD diagnosis. I recognise almost all of the signs you listed in myself.

Thank you it's a big step going to gp and want to be sure of myself there is a lot of cross over so it's hard to know if I'm one or both.

I have an autism diagnosis not add/adhd made as an adult. As you say from your research you seem to cover the triad so could definitely ask for referral. They may also ask why you want a formal diagnosis. If it is to understand yourself better that’s good. If it is for support and to change your behaviour, for example improve social skills then you may not find any resources for adults in your area.

From your list I have
In my own world a lot of time
Miss social cues
Tend to make things about me
Struggle with social situations
Fidgety can't sit or stand still for long periods
Struggle to relax
Have set routines get anxious with change
Struggle to recognise when I annoy people
Struggle to make/keep friends
Often feel exhausted/overwhelmed
Struggle to listen to others

Additionally/similar to the list
I spoke late
I need regular breaks from people (daily/during the day)
I can be aggressive when I find it hard to understand
I can take things too literally
I hate being late, beyond what is reasonable
