Can anyone help me make sense of this?
I emailed Luke Beardon to,ask how to go about this, and I've got myself in a massive flap about it and can't really understand what I've been told, and can't admit that as I'd never be allowed to enrol for an MA if I can't understand a simple email Blush

I was told that it was possible to take the MA as a distance learning thing without having to go to Sheffield every week.
I had this reply from Luke Beardon (I may be slightly star struck as well which is stopping my brain from working):

"there are two ways of doing this; either apply to my Post Grad Certificate via the NAS website - the next cohort is June, and it's 3 days in Manchester. Alternatively, you would need to attend evening sessions in Sheffield if you joined the MA straight away. If you chose the PGCert you could continue after onto the full MA."

I would normally understand this fine, but right now I can barely understand individual words!

Thank you.
God, that's quite scary!

I'll need to see if I could find some sort of student finance. I wonder if I'd be too old to get a another student loan?

Think I need a little lie down to process this now. Dh is not quite on board with this as it will be complicated (for one day a week).
Also need to get my head around getting there.
My gut says go for it, my head says noooo, wait it out.
Thank you Polter Flowers

Yes I agree.
The course is one evening a week, which is awkward with the DC as I would be out from 3 til 9ish. I can't leave ds2 unsupervised with the other DC, so I need to sort something out for them/him until Dh is home. I'm sure there'll be a way though.
I need to find out if doing the PGcert in June for three days would mean less time spent overall doing the MA, because if it did, that would probably be the best option.

I've re-read the email a few times, and I think the straight away reference is possibly to joining the MA straight off rather than doing the pg cert through the NAS to start off with.
According to the website the course starts in September.

Apparently if I go through the NAS I won't be able to get any funding, so I'll enrol for next year.

I am planning to apply for the PG Cert next year via NAS.
