Do you struggle with communicating with family and others you know well?

I'm comfortable around dh and the kids, but still struggle around his family. I've known them for about 15 years now, but still feel uneasy and not relaxed at all.

Not too bad with most of my colleagues. I even like a few of them even though I wouldn't socialise.

I go through phases I think. Sometimes I communicate without giving it much thought, a lot of the time even with DH and my closest family I struggle with eye contact. And with other people I replay conversations in my head, scrutinise the way I've acted, worry I've said too much or not asked enough questions, forget my words/thread mid sentence or find my mind goes blank (because I don't do small talk) and I have no idea what to say

Oh, definitely!
I thought you meant our own family before I opened the thread.

No, just anyone really. I'm super comfy with dh and the kids.

I replay conversations all the time too. It's as if I'm checking that I got my lines right.
