Done the survey but there are a couple of questions that I had to give ‘wrong’ answers to as the survey did not give me the opportunity to say ‘other’ to the given answers.

onitlikeacarbonnet · 16/04/2021 20:16

Done.
I’m interested to see what the results will be.

Same. I fed that back in the survey too. Purposely skewed answers won’t result in decent data MN!

Done. Although didnt really give any options for "we dont go on holiday every year", or "we take few mini breaks rather than a week or 2 week break". It does come from the presumption that a holiday abroad is the normal for all families, although I dont think that is true. Also no questions really to compare price of uk against abroad, or the possibility now of hotel quarantine on return and costs of this and covid tests to add to holidays if going abroad.

itsywitsy · 17/04/2021 12:13

done, we should ALL holiday in the UK this year, until the virus is under control WORLD WIDE, the variants and mutations need to be subdued or we will never get out of this vicious circle.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 17/04/2021 20:00

Done. There was no option for full time employment but currently on maternity leave.

I started to complete the survey but gave up when it insisted on asking questions relevant only to people planning holidays with their families. Fine if you have one. No other options offered if you do t. Not very inclusive!

Yes. Questions skewed towards "family" holidays. It's me and DS and we don't holiday alone. Usually with friends. We don't have a "main" holiday just small breaks. I holiday alone with partner as much as with DS.

Do results from "who books the holiday" type questions reflect the fact that there's actually only me to book holidays and it's not a case of "women doing all the holiday planning" etc?

BIWI · 18/04/2021 16:38

I don't think this questionnaire was piloted, was it?!

The question about where the income comes from gave no option for a retirement pension!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 18/04/2021 22:25

Done - whoever wrote this survey assumed that everyone usually goes on an overseas holiday every year. I'm a single parent and can't afford to do that. We've never had an overseas holiday. We usually rent a cottage in the UK with family or friends. This year we've been totally priced out of the market. As everyone who usually goes overseas is now holidaying in the UK, the prices have gone sky high and we can't afford a holiday at all ☹️

Done. I'll also be interested to see what the results show.

RaininSummer · 19/04/2021 20:52

Done. Agree about the presumptious questions. I haven't been abroad for around 20 years.

Kittyme · 19/04/2021 23:10

Duly completed.
