Oh god @EmpressLesbianInChair, we can't have men getting hurt fee-fees on a women's forum, in a thread about a biological reality that only affects women. We must always center Men!

@MNHQ please let us know what we can do to make the menopause effect men less. I feel awful for the poor dears.

Agree question about GPs is hard to answer. Mine is great (middle aged woman) but I’ve heard lots of horror stories.

Q22 doesn't allow me to answer accurately.

My lovely symptoms are still with me 3 years post menopause. There was no option for ongoing.

@tobee yep! Me too! Should be 'DONT know'. Also, surely only women can be answering questions about menopause? Seems daft to me!

@Sooverthemill apparently transwomen get 'periods' because they ingest female hormones. I wouldn't go and google this charming little nugget of information too deeply, there's some things best left unknown.

@Sooverthemill no. Transwomen neither get periods and thusly never get the menopause.

My posts are asking why MNHQ are allowed to specify they need female participants, when they won't allow posters on the feminism boards to correctly state the sex of people (who have self declared themselves as women despite having a penis) but must instead lie, and use compelled language.

The title and this in the OP 'This survey is open to all female Mumsnet and Gransnet users who live in the U.K.' make me think that the end of the survey was from some sort of standard template that hadn't been appropriately edited.

No space to explain my answers - for example my own GP has been lovely. But it's well known locally that only she and one of her female colleagues are any use at all for menopause, the other eleven in the practice are notoriously rubbish at it.

Having filled in a lot of these surveys over the years, yes it is a standard template for the last few questions. But very silly of whichever one of HQ set it up to leave it formatted that way! I suppose some transmen who have never had full surgery could have a valid input into this debate. But not transwomen.

Hmm, I’m a 50 year old woman, but I’m kinda confused by some of these questions. There are questions about symptoms of peri menopause, menopause and post menopause.

Surely menopause just means cessation of ovulation/periods, officially diagnosed at one year after LMP, and is thus just a point in time? So we’re really only either pre- (or peri) or post- menopause; the menopause itself not being an ongoing process?

What I mean is I’m not sure of the distinction between perimenopause and menopause, and menopause and post menopause, so not sure why they’re three different things in this survey. At what point are my peri symptoms menopause symptoms?

Female as in owner of a vagina one grew oneself? Please clarify.
