Never had to provide a uniform before, despite having an older teen......so I am terrified about my DS at new secondary school getting it wrong. They are deadly strict. I loved primary school and DD's liberal secondary - this is morning hell for 5 years.

lovemenorca · 06/09/2019 11:44

this is morning hell for 5 years.

You don’t honestly think that do you??

Thiswayorthatway · 06/09/2019 14:00

Get them involved in the preparations

Thistly · 07/09/2019 11:24

The list of statements about second hand are not very realistic. Who can actually get full uniform together purely from second hand and hand me down?
There’s always something you have to buy even if you use second hand and hand me down as far as possible.

I couldn’t in all honesty agree with any of the statements as they are too absolute.
And you have put no ‘none of the above’
So we have to select statements which say ‘all second hand’ or ‘never second hand’ in order to complete the survey.

I think you should review this.

WindsweptEgret · 07/09/2019 14:09

I agree about the second hand question. I buy second hand where I can, but other things new, such as longer length trousers in a smaller size to fit my child.

The cost is also only focused on when the children go back to school in September. The summer holidays are only six weeks long, so the previous year's uniform often still fits, but they may then need new school shoes at Christmas for example.

RainOrSun · 08/09/2019 21:55

It's a bad survey, MNHQ. Several questions where none of the answers were appropriate- second hand one, hardest part. I'm lucky that I dont need to budget for new uniform, but this isnt a possible answer.
Why no shoe shops or school uniform shops in the suppliers list?

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2019 12:25

Done! 😁

YanaMumsnet · 10/09/2019 09:32

Thank you for your feedback and sorry about that.
We've made some amends to the survey.

Bbijou814 · 20/09/2019 23:58

Good evening mum,
Can anyone recommend a good 11 plus tutor or maths tutor in Buckingham or Milton keynes. This will be much appreciated.x

Flanjango · 21/09/2019 23:20

Done. I hate uniform codes...and zero tolerance policies that place huge pressure on parents to find and pay for expensive uniform.

Proudmommy25 · 25/09/2019 22:13

After some serious help and advice.

So me and my partner have been together nearly 5 years and have 2 beautiful children. Problem is I honestly don't think my partner realises this. He's so uninterested in everything 😔
He works nights Monday to Thursday so I get he's tired but he literally sleeps all day until getting up having tea and going back to work..spending around 10 minutes with the girls and in that time he's too busy on his phone all the time. He's not really any better on weekends..lying in bed till stupid times and not spending time with them. Now I know he's going out to work but I do literally everything else..I mean everything he doesn't lift a finger! He doesn't seem to see what he has around him and how lucky I think he is. I have a go and moan constantly but he just doesn't care 😞
AIBU what on earth is going on with him?

LetItGoToRuin · 26/09/2019 14:19
