Here at MNHQ, we want to find out about you and beauty. Whether you're a skin care queen or still using the face cream your Mum always did, if you're a make up aficionado or completely averse, we'd love to hear what you have to say.

The survey is open to all UK Mumsnetters. All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of choice (from a list).

Click here to complete the survey.

Thanks and good luck!

All done. Didn't realise how annoying I find most beauty focussed advertising until I filled that in.

WhattheChuff · 08/06/2017 16:03

Yy, most advertising is really patronising and lazy.

PorridgeAgainAbney · 08/06/2017 19:54

Done. Made me realise how loyal I am as I could only tick one brand that I use all the time. Also made me realise how shit most advertising is because I couldn't think of one ad that I actually like!

I like swap brands but only if I'd enough of recommendation from friends or adverts.

I love experimenting with new brands and products but have a few favourites I stick to for certain products. If only all these beauty products would deliver what they promise in the ads, we might not be so cynical about their advertising - we're promised we'll all be skipping through life looking 20 years younger and utterly gorgeous yet we're still frantically dousing ourselves with every serum, lotion, potion. BB/CC, blurring, contouring, hydrating, highlighting, minimising, maximising, mattifying, moisturising pot of gold that hits the market in the hope that this will be THE ONE, when some days I look in the mirror and it's not just miracle cream my face needs, but scaffolding!

Done. Reminded me how poor the diversity is in the range of cosmetics readily available.

Henrysmycat · 14/06/2017 10:26

I love perfume ads, except some Chanel ones that have Brad Pitt and Depp talking pretentious crap. Jesus. Who approved of those?
I dislike Dove Adverts. It's full of "But you are so pretty!/It's ok you're not skinny/etc" and the they are full of "are you moisturizing your underarms? they are dry. Here's buy another cream".
I have completely stopped looking at ads and most bloggers/instagrammers. Some bloggers are still trustworthy but for how long? I found out that learning about things/ingredients is a bit more helpful than depend on a 20 yo/or on a face full of fillers and botox to tell me about the latest anti-aging cream.
