Here at MNHQ, and just for fun, we’d like to see whether you can successfully predict what this year’s John Lewis Christmas ad will look like Smile

This survey is open to all UK Mumsnetters. Everyone who completes the survey will be put into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £50 voucher (for their store of choice (inc JL Grin)).

Here's the link: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/9H3T55M

Thanks

I was heavily pregnant with my first dc over Christmas last year, the advert with the man in the moon brought me to tears every time I saw it. I loved that advert.

frankleigh · 22/09/2016 17:39

Done! I think people are sick of the tearjerkers and they're becoming too predictable. It'll be something fun but "very sincere".

(I also think it's incredible that they will have had teams of marketeers working on it throughout the year, and will put more budget to it than some councils have to play with, but that's another story...)

PikachuSayBoo · 22/09/2016 23:08

I predict polar bears. Or maybe foxes. Or maybe polar bears and foxes. And snow. There will be snow. And a child. And presents.

TheSunnySide · 23/09/2016 16:04

Post-brexit multicultural community hugfest.

Yumpopbythesea · 23/09/2016 19:01

They will resurrect an old character or retro toy which fills us with nostalgia and makes us go and buy one from John Lewis xx

ProfYaffle · 24/09/2016 06:58

Surely I'm not the only one that predicted a hallucinogenic, post apocalyptic, dystopian nightmare??

NowThatsClosureJen · 28/09/2016 12:34

The only problem here is that any number of JL employees, ad agency workers, printers, production crews... would already know the answer to this...

Psukhe. I don't think that a Mumsnet 'stickied' survey thread is the correct place for you to add your own survey Hmm

HelenaDove · 28/09/2016 19:11

I predict it will be something to do with homelessness.

The film...........A Streetcat Named Bob goes on general release on November 4th. Around the same time as the Xmas John Lewis ad usually premieres

As well as the fact that the housing crisis has been in the news fairly constantly.

WinchesterWoman · 29/09/2016 11:34

It'll be super upbeat with a little trans reference somewhere

WinchesterWoman · 29/09/2016 11:34

Oh homelessness . Yes but that would be deeply exploitative

BalthazarImpresario · 29/09/2016 14:31

Some overly saccharin sentiment with a terrible ethereal voiced cover version of a classic.

The advert will probably make anyone who isn't having the 'ideal' Christmas feel like crap

HelenaDove · 29/09/2016 14:47

Winchester.................it depends how its done.

WinchesterWoman · 29/09/2016 15:38

Yes I agree but twee-ing up homelessness - I don't know. Maybe I'm too cynical.

AnnMumsnet · 05/10/2016 14:12

SoftBlocks wins the £50 voucher will she will pick a Jl one? Grin
