Tried to respond but the survey doesn't let you make selection on an iPad Confused

AnnMumsnet · 09/10/2015 08:30

Might have been an ipad glitch - can you try again? thanks

Done

Pulledapart33 · 09/10/2015 09:35

Done

bigsnugglebunny · 09/10/2015 14:46

Done - audiobooks are great if I'm sat doing some crocheting of an evening.

Orangeisthenewbanana · 10/10/2015 07:54

Done - although now pennies are a bit tighter, I use the library as first port of call for all our books!

MillyMoo1113 · 10/10/2015 12:48

Done, doesn't let me reflect how many books I borrow from the library Tho

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 10/10/2015 14:22

Done. It doesn't differentiate between new and secondhand books, but maybe that's irrelevant for what they're after.

ThursdayLastWeek · 10/10/2015 14:32

Done, like Millie I wasn't able to represent the library books though.

Fantasyland · 10/10/2015 18:30

Done Smile

RedButtonhole · 11/10/2015 05:06

Done! As others have said though, there's no indication of what I borrow from the library or swap with friends. I so buy a tonne of books in charity shops, which isn't reflected here.

LovelyFriend · 12/10/2015 20:53

Exactly what red said above

Teladi · 14/10/2015 12:57

I am also a keen library user (as is my DD)

DuchessofMalfi · 16/10/2015 20:00

Done. I also borrow loads from the library, buy second hand from charity shops and like to read books on different formats - sometimes audio books, sometimes ebooks and sometimes paper books.

SouthWesterlyWinds · 17/10/2015 11:57

Done! Love books!

fuzzpig · 17/10/2015 13:11

I agree it would've been useful to have a question somewhere with the option to say "I prefer to borrow books rather than buy" :)... I work in a library :o

BlackeyedSusan · 17/10/2015 13:31

this is a crap survey in that there was no-where to explain my book buying habits. we buy books for birthdays and christmas in big batches from the book people or in batches from the library when they are selling off stock or from aldi when they are reduced to get rid of them quickly. . we can not afford to buy full price books

Hygge · 17/10/2015 15:09

Done.

I would have liked an option to say I enjoy books both in print and on my kindle, as it seemed to be an either/or answer and mine most truthfully would be both.

And yes, we are keen library users as well. And there's a book exchange at work. And the charity shop.

AlpacaLypse · 17/10/2015 16:13

Why wasn't I able to say that I don't buy e books, I borrow them from the Library? In fact, 75% of what I read is from the Library. And I don't really mind whether I read on my Kobo or from a printed book. And most of the books I do buy are from charity shops, except Christmas and birthdays. And DP and the twins and I all buy books, some of which we share around, others just for ourselves.

Badly thought out survey.

mizu · 17/10/2015 18:12

Done, but agree about the library. We get lots of books from the library, reserve them frequently.

Hope I win Grin

BackforGood · 17/10/2015 19:30

Done, but doesnt account for borrowing from the library or 2nd hand book shops/ stalls.
Also, q5 lumps all dc together whereas my youngest loves audio books but the older 2 prefer to read traditional books.

BlueEyeshadow · 17/10/2015 21:18

Agree about library/second hand books. Also the fact that a lot of books come as Christmas/birthday presents. And lots more sometimes/it depends type options rather than just yes/no.

RiverTam · 17/10/2015 22:11

Done, though I thought it most odd that there's no question with regard to where you buy your books from (Amazon/bookshop/charity or secondhand) or if you use a library as well as it instead of buying books.

froggyjump · 17/10/2015 22:54

Done, but agree with previous posters, most books come from libraries, charity shops or friends.
