Here at MNHQ with Workfest coming up we have been thinking about the employment market and job hunting. We want to know all about you and your paid employment: what industry did you/do you/plan to work in, how do you find jobs, and how you juggle child care.

This survey is open to all UK Mumsnetters as we are interested not only in your current employment status but how you would plan to go into paid employment in the future.

Everyone who completes this survey will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win £100 Love2Shop voucher.

Here's the link - www.surveymonkey.com/s/7SLQ96R

Thanks and good luck!

Question 2 is only allowing one answer, but seems like you should be able to make several choices.

neolara · 08/04/2015 09:36

That's exactly what I was going to say.

AngelieMumsnet · 08/04/2015 09:59

Thanks for pointing that out, we've now changed this :)

Done, but based on my current job working school hours during term time found after looking for over a year! My answers would have been very different 5 years ago, working in a totally different full-time job with 3 children in various nursery and school childcare combinations and holiday clubs!! It would be interesting to do a survey on how many mums have had to downscale their jobs and careers due to childcare costs and issues.

CycleChic · 08/04/2015 17:45

Is question 2 the one about childcare? Because that one should allow multiple choices as well. ..

aunttoniece · 08/04/2015 18:01

difficult to answer really, had my current job before children

fish88 · 08/04/2015 18:04

Question 5 should also allow for multiple options. Whilst I am at work my partner does some of the childcare (works shifts) and then we use a childminder for the hours we are both at work.

BackforGood · 08/04/2015 18:15

Done, but I'm past the days of juggling childcare - my answers would probably have been quite different 10 yrs ago.

addictedtosugar · 08/04/2015 18:42

Q5 needs multipul options, as Fish says.

Q13 really hard when you have been with the same company 13 yrs, and joined as a grad. Most were irrelevant at the time, but post kids, would need to be considered.

HeeHiles · 08/04/2015 23:25

Not really relevant for self employed workers.

sausagepoo · 09/04/2015 12:46

question 5 needs multiple answers - i rely on nursery, childminder and before/after school clubs.

kungfupidge · 09/04/2015 18:02

done !
im currently looking for employment so fingers crossed x

MummyConstant · 10/04/2015 15:22

Done!

I am very lucky in my job, I work for the Council and get looked after very well.

PeppermintCrayon · 10/04/2015 21:15

I stopped as the questions about job ads and vacancies weren't applicable (am self employed)

Muddlewitch · 11/04/2015 08:56

Done, but agree the question about childcare should have more than one option as I use a combination as do so many others!

Stealthpolarbear · 11/04/2015 09:52

first q probably needs fill

Stealthpolarbear · 11/04/2015 09:53

ft carer
will do this when ipad is playing

ToomuchChocolatemeansBootcamp · 11/04/2015 11:15

Done!

saturdaysnitching · 11/04/2015 15:49

Question 12 - every other survey ever would start their scale at unhelpful up to helpful but you've done it in reverse. Why?

I love you MN but you have a knack of doing surveys really badly! They're always so painful.

CtrlAltDelicious · 11/04/2015 17:39

Done but not sure whether I did the ranking question the right way round - sorry! So, if you read a survey by a childless woman who apparently ranks "childcare facilities" as her top priority, that'll be me... Blush

LittleMissRayofHope · 11/04/2015 20:58

Filling in on iPhone and the numbered section wouldn't allow me to change any of the numbers?

Every time I tried it automatically put them in numerical order and would t allow change

Good point!

Any data you get from that (and I would say the helpful to unhelpful one) will be utterly void.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/04/2015 11:43

Done

MerryMarigold · 12/04/2015 17:39

In terms of ranking, I think you could assume that visually, the one at the top is the most important, regardless of number.

But if you want to pick holes...
