Done. Don't know how helpful I was though! Never heard of eating berries to prevent allergies.

Done, but I hadn't heard about it either!! Also have IBS so have to be careful!!

It does say "Please note, the list below is of things that some people do but is not necessarily based on any official recommendations."

So I until there is solid evidence berries preventing allergies I wouldn't make any drastic changes to your diet if it's already balanced and healthy.

Hmm I live on a farm which grows strawberries and raspberries and am 32 weeks... my berry intake is probably more than most! (DD seems to have inherited a strong affection for berries too and would happily consume a pound at a sitting if we let her! - thankfully no allergies)

Done it but ticked no to loads because it said specifically for the pregnancy. I have a pretty well balanced diet and I eat lots of fruit and fish anyway. I also eat the same quantity of chocolate.... I did say balanced!! !!

Sorry, I didn't really mean to say that we should be able to signal that specifically. Just that it's upsetting when these forms have no wiggle room and make blithe assumptions about the ongoing shape of people's families.

Thanks Helen. I don't think I explained myself very well here, it's not that i need a space to tell my story in a questionnaire about berries. It's just something to bear in mind when constructing questionnaires in general, as sadly there are lots of bereaved parents on MN (as I know you know).

Done! But the allergies thing always bugs me, it seems like without concrete evidence a soon to be mum could be really worried over potentially nothing, and that to me is more dangerous to mum and baby than whether she had a punnet of blueberries!

berries, eh? now I seem to remember being told that eating too much fruit means you run the risk of gestational diabetes. Luckily she didn't mention cake...

Bloody hell there is so much information about what you should and shouldn't eat, I felt dreadful as I skipped down the 'no' column of all the things I should apparently be avoiding.

I have been eating frozen raspberries like there is no tomorrow throughout this Pregnancy but because I have been craving them! I never heard of the m preventing allergies either.

Have a real craving for peanuts and cashews... never really liked them before... so it's tough luck if it makes the Bean allergic.

Berries seem to be the new wonder-food.
