We've been asked by BMI Healthcare to find out Mumsnetters opinons of women's health issues.

Here's what they say: "Women's gynaecological health can be complicated. The vast array of symptoms and conditions are not always easy to understand, nor are the treatment options easy to navigate or access. Often symptoms can point to a variety of different of conditions - and it's crucial women know what these are, what the serious signs are and what they can do about them. Gynaecological health isn't just about having children. It is important that women are armed with the correct information about their health - from puberty to menopause and all the different stages in between."

This survey is open to all female UK Mumsnetters aged 25-54 years. Please note, the results to the survey may be used in media activity, on the BMI Healthcare website and in social media, all data will be kept confidential.

My GP tried to give me a gynae 'ring-back triage' over the phone even after I'd told him I was shopping in Asda at the time.

Found the survey a bit weird in some questions. I always thought pcos was lifelong so have not ever. It's a current condition not one I've sought help with in twelve months though.

Also it asks what you would do differently - but doesn't give you an option to tick you did that option yourself already

I don't understand why you have to be over 25 for this. I have PCOS, suspected Endo, have had two gynea ops in the space of a year, and see my gynecologist so frequently, I might as well invite him to my freaking birthday parties.

Possible. Seeing as I requested one post-birth and they refused to do one because I was ''too young'', and told me to come back at 25. At which point, DS will be seven...

Yes, the what would you do differently question gives you no opportunity to say whether you were happy with everything the first time. I had great treatment on the NHS and was happy with it all but there was no place to say that.

Sirboob I am 30 and eleven /twelve years ago had a wonderful Gp who smear tested me early even then. They found abnormal cells, I had surgery and follow ups every six months for ten years. If my Gp hadn't pushed for that and my referal to a gynea when I was so young I dread to think what could have been.

Incidently same Gp referred me back to gynea when at 21 I had no periods for three months. Totally against guidelines (post pill) but meant I had my pcos diagnosed, my hcg and fertility treatment all done before 23. Friends stories are no where near as quick, often being told to wait two years for their periods to return.

I love my gp service.

Agree with Stiffybyng - I have had major gynae surgery in the last year on the NHS and the questions seem to assume you were unhappy with your experience. Also my condition wasn't listed in the original list, even though it is fairly common and I had to put it in under "other". I have ticked that I wouldn't do anything differently which makes it look as though I accepted that things weren't great, when in fact the reason I wouldn't do things differently is that I saw a sympathetic GP who referred my to a very good gynae consultant without delay and everything went very smoothly from there.

Done now. I had to tick 'never' for PCOS, endometriosis and polyps because they've never been diagnosed but the truth is I just don't know. My GP was so bloody useless last time I saw him I've been put off ever going again because they always seem so disinterested. It took so much courage for me to actually make/attend the appointment, and I left feeling they just didn't give a crap and it's not worth bothering with. Can't bring myself to do it again.

I went to my GP while pregnant and said GP, I have a rectocele, she had a look and a poke and prod, and agreed. After pregnancy I went back, and she referred me straight over to gynae.
