We've been asked by the charity PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) to find out about your views on secondary education.

PEAS say "Our mission is to unlock the potential of Africa by delivering equal access to affordable, quality secondary education".

PEAS will be working with the campaigns team on Mumsnet in September and in advance of this they want to find out how you feel about your own child(ren) and secondary education. The survey should take no longer than a few minutes to complete and is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child.

Sorry we have no incentive for this one but would greatly appreciate any responses - it'll only take a couple of minutes!

I admire the aims of PEAS but that has to be the worst survey I've ever completed. Dreadful.

Done, but it seems like a pretty pointless survey. What do PEAS hope to learn from it?

Just a wee question, what do they mean by auxillary and lunch fees and what happens to children whose family can't afford fees?

The one about choosing which child to send was tough.

Not sure what they are trying to prove really - and I answered don't know to some which I never normally do as I felt I really didn't and couldn't know.

A survey that makes you think, not quite Sophies choice but heading that way.

Send the academic child and have them teach the sibling(s) when they get home would have been a better option

Send the oldest -they can then help pay for the others. Might need to space them out a bit mind.

Haven't completed it due to lack of children, but had a nose at it and agree its a very odd survey How can you estimate whether deciding whether to send your child to school is easier or harder than deciding to divorce or put a parent in a care home? They're very different situations with different contexts and considerations.

edustudent those are the qus to which I answered don't know. How can you know unless you've done it (which thankfully I never have)?

What happened to the north west region? I got lumped into "northern England".
DH had a private education, so no hesitation, if I had to pay for education I would. I have already set up accounts for DCs living expenses at University (or a house deposit should they decide not to go).

It sounds as if they are trying to find which aspects to emphasise in a fundraising situation to me.
I have done it because it is a good cause,but I nearly abandoned it which I never do!

The question about which child would you send was impossibly difficult really.
I tried to imagine myself as a poor mother in Africa and decided I'd send the most academically able child - but I might not necessarily do that. I might well send the eldest, or possibly my son (if I lived in African society) I might send the most needy (if there was one), but then again I don't know whether SN provision would be very good or even able to cope with a child with SN ?

All the other questions were a doddle in comparison and I ticked lots of options for one question which gave me that option !
