Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try?
Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit

What did your child think of the taste?
He said it was very tasty and liked it a lot.

When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine?
We took it on a day trip as my son usually looks for water. This was a convenient and tasty alternative.

How would you describe the drink to another parent? Much nicer than similar drinks. I would never have chosen it and always gone for drinks I knew as a child. In future I'll look out for these products and choose other flavours to try.

What was your/your child's favourite thing about the drink? That it was different and nicer than having usual boring water.

Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink? No, everything was great about the product and I wouldn't change a thing. I do like products with "no added sugar" visible on the label.

  • We tested the Apple and Raspberry flavour.
  • My children enjoyed the taste and the refreshing sensation of the drink.
  • It was used for lunch boxes, so they not only had their water bottles but an extra drink for lunch time.
  • I would say it is tasty, refreshing, more natural, reassuring that children are having less sugar and better for them as its spring water.
  • That it was spring water, and not so artificial.
  • They didn't say they would change anything as they enjoyed a lot as it was flavoursome, delicious and fruity.
NonstopMam · 07/10/2026 09:55
  • We tried Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry and my daughter enjoyed it and I was pleased it seemed more natural and not too sweet.
  • Juice is a weekend and holiday treat here, so we kept to that. I would not buy it for home consumption as it felt more of a lunchbox/on the go drink. It's not economical or eco friendly to have as an everyday home drink.
  • It was a convenient size and shape for throwing into a bag when out and about. However, she did end up pouring it into a glass on one occasion to get all the dregs out.
  • We managed ok with the design but I could see that younger children would struggle and maybe spill it when drinking.
  • I would describe it as a fairly natural juice drink, ideal for picnics and packed lunches. I felt better about my child having it as opposed to usual squashes which are very sugary.
racheltravel17 · 07/10/2026 10:15

We tried the Radnor Splash - Orange and Passionfruit flavour. My children really enjoyed the taste and felt that it was first quenching for them. They had this drink with lunch as well as after school - normally at this time, they would normally have squash or water. We kept the cartons in the fridge which really helped with the flavour when they were nice and cold. If I was drink to another parent, I would say it was a good flavoured alternative to squash, convenient to carry in your bag, and a good fruity flavour.
The only thing that my children said they would change about the drink would be to add a straw to make it easier to drink whilst walking.

It looks like I’m in the minority here, but unfortunately my children (aged 9 and 12) really didn’t like it!

Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try?
Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit

What did your child think of the taste?
They both described it as “horrible” and thought the flavour was very weak and not particularly pleasant. Neither of them could finish it.

When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine?
We tried it at the weekend with lunch and also after school. My children normally drink water, with J2Os as an occasional treat.

How would you describe the drink to another parent?
A very weak squash.

What was your/your child’s favourite thing about the drink?
I’m sorry, but they genuinely couldn’t find anything they liked about it! They both really disliked the taste.

Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink?
I wonder if part of the issue is the flavour choice. Orange & Passion Fruit (and Apple & Raspberry) are the same as J2O's flavour combinations, so my children naturally expected it to taste something like a J2O. Unfortunately, they felt it tasted nothing like it and found the flavour far too weak.

I appreciate that taste is very subjective, and clearly lots of people feel differently, but unfortunately neither of my children could even finish theirs. My husband tried them too and really disliked them. I think a stronger, more distinctive fruit flavour would make a big difference, but I understand that they have to be healthy too.

archaeoptyrx · 07/10/2026 10:55

Good morning,

We tried the Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry.

My children both liked the taste and said that it was like the Radnor drinks they can buy at school.

I offered it with their after-school snack and they loved them, asking for more when they ran out! It slotted straight into our normal routine instead of water or squash.

Flavoured but without the nasties. The taste appeals to children and I know that they are drinking something healthy.

We liked the fact they were straw free and in recyclable cartons.

Conversely, my son struggled at first to know how to drink from the carton!

Thank you for including us in this taste test!

Frances

Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit is the variety we tried. My child and myself loved the flavour. Just a hint of flavour but was really tasty and thirst quenching. It did not leave any nasty after taste and was suitable for any time of the day.
My only criticism is the packaging is not child friendly. The opening is hard for my child to pull and it does not come with a straw. We poured it into a glass to use. Although we enjoyed the taste I am not sure we would continue to purchase as not suitable for packed lunches or days out.

  • Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try? (Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry, Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit, Radnor Fruits Toy Story 5 - Apple or Radnor Fruits Toy Story 5 - Apple)
  • Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry
  • What did your child think of the taste?
  • She really enjoyed the flavour.
  • When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine?
  • As part of a packed lunch and once after school with a snack. It was good for both of these occasions.
  • How would you describe the drink to another parent?
  • It's refreshing and tastes great. There's no straw which might be an issue for younger kids.
  • What was your/your child's favourite thing about the drink?
  • She said not having to use a straw made her feel more grown up!
  • Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink?
  • It's not the easiest carton to open and she did manage to spill a bit on herself the first time she opened one, so she would make some changes to that.

We tried the Radnor splash orange and passion fruit.
DD thought the taste good. She really liked it.
I left them with the other drinks and let the children help themselves.
I would describe it as tasty but would have been better with a straw.
DD liked the taste and found it very refreshing.
I would add a straw.

  • Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try? (Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry, Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit, Radnor Fruits Toy Story 5 - Apple or Radnor Fruits Toy Story 5 - Apple)

my son tried the Radnor splash orange and passion fruit

  • What did your child think of the taste?

He loved the taste which is fantastic as it’s really hard to get him to drink anything

  • When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine?

He had the drink either straight after school or with his tea but it would be an ideal drink to take to school for lunch if it was easier to open without spilling

  • How would you describe the drink to another parent?

A really tasty, sugar free and convenient drink

  • What was your/your child's favourite thing about the drink?

He loved the flavour/taste

  • Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink?

We would definitely change the packaging as my 12 year old found it really difficult to open without spilling. If this was changed I would definitely buy him these to take to school.

I also usually try to avoid drinks with sweeteners but as it is so hard to get my son to drink water, I would definitely buy this in future as he really loved it and it is reassuring to know that he always drinks the whole carton

  • Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try?
Radnor Splash - Apple & Raspberry
  • What did your child think of the taste?
They thought it was a nice juice, he said it tasted refreshing and not too sweet, not strong quite subtle

We tried it when it after school and at lunch. It fit in well as we tried it on a weekend when we went out walking so was easy to pack

A juice box with still juice that is convenient for packed lunches especially as no straw needed as they always bend or get lost off the box
  • What was your/your child's favourite thing about the drink?
He felt like it was a healthy choice as the flavour wasn't very strong
  • Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink?
Hr would have liked it to be resealable or a smaller carton size. He didn't finish the drink once, he said it was would be too much to drink on his lunch as he only gets 20 mins.
AliBingo · 07/10/2026 23:02

Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try?
Radnor Splash – Apple & Raspberry.

What did your child think of the taste?
My child thought it was really delicious, very palatable and really refreshing.

When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine?
My child was so enthusiastic to try it that she actually had one with breakfast on the first day! After that, we mainly took them with us when we were out and about, as they’re really convenient to carry around.

How would you describe the drink to another parent?
A nice, well-priced, reasonably healthy, low-calorie drink that kids actually enjoy.

What was your/your child’s favourite thing about the drink?
My child’s favourite thing was simply that it was really tasty.

Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink?
I’d probably change the packaging slightly. The tear tab on top of the carton was a bit awkward, and because the carton was so full, we quite often ended up spilling a little when opening it.

Which Radnor Hills drink and flavour did your child try?
Radnor Splash - Orange & Passion Fruit,

What did your child think of the taste?
He liked it. Not too sweet. Like flavoured water.

When did you offer the drink, and how did it fit into your usual routine? packed it in his lunch box for school. Also had after school.

How would you describe the drink to another parent? Great for lunch boxes, easy to open-no straws needed, not too sweet- more like flavoured water if their child likes those sort of drinks.

Is there anything you/your child would change about the drink? no

LiftyLift · 08/10/2026 12:17

We tried the orange flavour. My kids both liked it, but expected it to be more of a fruit juice, but said it was more like squash. We only have juice at weekends, so we gave it then.

To another parent I would say it is ultra processed and not recommended it, despite claiming to be healthy. It has artificial colours which as it is in a carton, feels unnecessary!

my kids struggled with the packaging.
