Which MAM soother did you test?

comfort 2m to 6m

What were your first impressions of it?

Nice colour. Soft to touch and nice texture- felt like was made of something natural rather than the artificial plastic/ "squeaky " texture some soothers can have

Why did you want to try out the soother?

I'm on my 3rd child - none of them have ever taken a soother before in spite of many attempts / brands tried ,(all 3 entirely breast fed). i really wanted this baby to use for comfort when not immediately able to soothe her myself/ sleep aid

what did you and your baby use the soother for?

Comfort when tired so that I don't end up nursing to sleep for every nap

What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?

Texture. Can go in any way around . Seems to keep baby very happy.

Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?

Yes -its the only soother any of my babies have taken to!

Would you recommend this soother to other parents?

Yes

Which MAM soother did you test? What were your first impressions of it?

MAM Air Soother 6m+
First impression was it was much bigger than current soother.

Why did you want to try out the soother? What did you and your baby use the soother for?

I wanted to try a soother for my baby’s age range. The soother is used for comforting baby occasionally and for settling to sleep.

What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?

My baby refused the soother at first I think due to the larger teat after a few attempts she will now use it but still prefers her smaller soother.
I liked the design.

Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?

I will continue to use soothers but not based purely on this product.

Would you recommend this soother to other parents?

No it wouldn’t be my first recommendation

  1. Perfect soother

I was hoping to get my daughter to use dummy to help her sleep. The mam dummy is good quality and nice design. Very handy that it glows in the dark. My daughter enjoyed using it but unfortunately not to help her sleep. I would recommend to others although it is more expensive than cheaper brands.

We tested baby soothers 12/18 months our first impression were very positive nice shape and nice glowing in the dark design , we want to try something different at night we had a problem finding dummy when Maya was waking up so this was perfect for us we could fond it without the problem. What did we find the most good about the dummy was the glowing at night effect my daughter really like that . Yes definitely we would buy and we will be using the MaM soothers again

Which MAM soother did you test?
night soother 12-18 months

What were your first impressions of it?
I loved the designs, very pretty and cute. The dummy’s are a great size and the teats are soft and smooth. Great shape too, some dummy’s are odd shaped.

Why did you want to try out the soother?
I love mam dummy’s and wanted to try any of the different types. They get expensive so trying different ones can get costly.

What did you and your baby use the soother for?
My baby loves a dummy to go to sleep, and this did just the job! The glow in the dark feature helped me to locate the dummy when fumbling in the dark. I purchased the dummy clips from mam too for daytime use as they’ve become our favourite!

What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?
They seem to be the best sized and shaped. We previously used tommee tippee but these are now the ones we both reach for.

Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?
Yes definitely. I already used them, but will be purchasing more from mam.

Would you recommend this soother to other parents?
Yes I would. The glow in the dark feature is handy, and actually works. The dummy’s are great sizes and cute designs in all colours and neutral too. They suit all babies.

What did you and your baby use the soother for?

nap time and bed time with the occasional stroppy moment thrown in

What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?

i liked the fact that it’s good for teeth

Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?

Would you recommend this soother to other parents?

Which MAM soother did you test? What were your first impressions of it?
-We tested the air soother. First impression were slightly sceptical as we have purchased these in the past for our baby (10 months old now) and she wouldn’t take to them at all.

Why did you want to try out the soother? What did you and your baby use the soother for?
-I wanted to try these soothers as my girl has always taken mam branded dummies but she went from the 0+ months newborn tiny one to a 0-6 months glow in the dark which she was obsessed with, wouldn’t take any other dummy or brand. She uses it to soothe herself and for bedtime.

What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?
-My girl surprised us all as she actually started using these teat size and shape during this trial and now it’s the ones she goes for when she needs soothed. She loves the shape and size of the teat now and she likes how easy it is to grip a hold of the soother.

Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?
-yes 100%. I’m due baby 2 in 11 weeks and will certainly be getting mam soothers again for this baby, as they have been a solid part of us being able to soothe and to promote our baby to self soothe. They are reasonably priced, definitely worth the money in my opinion though.

Would you recommend this soother to other parents?
-Absolutely yes! I already always recommend mam as a brand wether it be bottle or soother to all my friends/family who are expecting.

Thank you mumsnet!!

  1. Which MAM soother did you test? What were your first impressions of it?

Original Silicone Night Soother (2 to 18 months)
We already used the newborn so it was very familiar in terms of glow in the dark feature and packaging/ sterilisation which I like. Noticeably bigger ‘teat’ than the newborn size which is to be expected but I wondered if the transition would be seamless or not.

  2. Why did you want to try out the soother? What did you and your baby use the soother for?

I wanted to try the more appropriate size for my 10 month old as we were still using the 0-6 month ones. She just uses a dummy for sleeping.

  3. What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?

i liked the familiarity from the previous size. I also liked that it’s silicone - I suspect they all are but is reassuring that she’s not sucking on plastic.

  4. Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?

Yes but I do wish there was a better way to attach to the pram with a loop at the end of the dummy perhaps. I have to have a different brand attached to the pram but she seems happy to switch interchangeably.

  5. Would you recommend this soother to other parents?
    Yes

Q. Which MAM soother did you test? What were your first impressions of it?

A. The comfort soother - I loved the simple design and pastel colours and couldn't wait to take it out of its packaging.

Q. Why did you want to try out the soother?

A. We used a Mam soother in babys very early weeks to help with hiccups and were due an upgrade in size, we trust MAM so it made sense to test out this product and we're glad we did.

Q. What did you and your baby use the soother for?

A. To comfort baby when he's over tired, but more recently for early teething!

Q. What did you and your baby like most about the soother that you tested?

A. For me, I love how pretty and tactile the comfort soother is - it's so soft and flexible that unlike other brands my baby isn't left with a red mark around his mouth if hes holding it for a while. For baby, I think the flexibility again, when the soother pops out he can suck and chomp on whichever part of it reaches his mouth first and it doubles as a teether for him.
MY FAVOURITE FEATURE... is that it can be thoroughly cleaned, unlike more traditional styles, there is no way for water to get trapped in the teat of these soothers, so no need to worry about stale water sitting in there and causing bacteria.

Q. Would you use soothers again based on the product that you tested. If so, why?

A. Absolutely, for all the reasons mentioned above we'll definitely use this soother as baby grow and buy the next stage up when the time comes.

Q. Would you recommend this soother to other parents?

A. Most definitely! I already have :)
