We’re looking for Mumsnet users to test out The Nue Co.’s BARRIER CULTURE skincare products: BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER (designed to clean the skin without stripping it or disrupting your skin's pH) and BARRIER CULTURE MOISTURISER (designed to hydrate and repair, protect against pollution, and lock in moisture).

Here’s what Jules Miller, Founder and CEO of The Nue Co. has to say: “When thinking about health holistically, we know that a preventative approach works far better than a reactionary one — this is true for our skin health, just as much as it is for our gut and environmental health. Our topical microbiome is just as important as our internal microbiome. In fact, it’s estimated that 21% of our microbiome lives on our skin whereas around 26% lives in our gut. To care about your microbiome, is to care about your skin”.

Some more information from The Nue Co. on the products to be tested:

BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER
“Soap-free, sulfate-free and deeply cleans the skin, removing dirt, pollution and makeup, without stripping or disrupting the skin’s pH”

BARRIER CULTURE MOISTURISER
“Hydrates and repairs skin to improve its natural barrier function, repopulating the topical microbiome and actively conditioning skin“

Selected testers will be sent two full size BARRIER CULTURE products from The Nue Co. which normally cost a total of £77. The products will be 1 x BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER (120ml £32 RRP) and 1 x BARRIER CULTURE MOISTURISER (50ml £45) which testers will be required to use every day for two weeks. Click here to find out more about The Nue Co. products.

Following testing of the products, selected testers will need to give their feedback via a thread on Mumsnet and a short survey. All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Please sign up here if you're interested in taking part.

Thanks and good luck!

Got mine yesterday too! Very impressed by the packaging and bottle, very classy. They both feel lovely and my skin feels good so far.

Mine arrived yesterday. Will try this morning. Lovely bottles

I get mine yesterday. Love the design of the bottles and packaging.

Used the cleanser and it didn't sting my skin, as many do.
I found the moisturizer to be thin but I am used to using a cream rather than a lotion.

Love the packaging and the bottles, very sophisticated and clean looking. The cleanser feels very gentle on my skin and the moisturiser is lovely, a little goes a long way and already my skin feels soft and more hydrated.

Got mine yesterday. Have used it this morning. My skin was playing up yesterday, was red itchy and a bit flaky.

My face felt nice after washing, not tight and dry like it does usually. The moisturiser felt really luxurious too. I never usually spend that much on skincare, but if it's as good as it seems so far I may be persuaded...

Received mine this weekend too. Much more expensive than my normal products so interested to see how it compares. Simple but stylish packaging.

I have a split on the side of my mouth and accidentally got the moisturiser over it. No stinging at all!
I don't usually go for gel type cleansers (usually use a balm or oil) but seem to be getting on well with this one

My initial thoughts:

I like the cleanser - easy to use in shower and skin feels soft after rinsing with no tightness

The moisturiser felt a bit thin when I applied yesterday. However, my skin did feel moisturised all day even after breezy walk along beach

Got back from 2 nights away to find my testers had arrived.

First impression is that I love the packaging, especially the brown glass bottles. Looks like a quality product.

Looking forward to trying the contents

Thank you! Enjoying getting started with both of these, and I’m a sucker for nice packaging so the bottles alone are making me very happy Grin

I love the packaging, especially the glass bottles, so used to plastic Confused The products themselves are gorgeous, love how soft my skin feels and using both seems to have reduced my oily t zone which is fantastic! My skin feels more like a grape than a raisin as it seems to be hydrating much better than my usual products Smile

I am enjoying using these products. Today is the first day in more than 4 months that my skin hasn't had a breakout. I used Elemis Bliss Capsules back in January and since then my skin has been awful.

Also appreciating the simple routine!

I’ve completed my trial survey today.

For me, at 58 yrs old... this is my honest review.

The Cleanser is wonderful. I would definitely buy this as it’s so gentle, you only need a little and it removes my makeup really well, with a double cleanse. No itching. No dryness. A really excellent product. Feels lovely and my skin felt plumped after use.

The Moisturiser no. Not for me. It may be my age but this isn’t “man enough”. My skin has felt consistently parched. I’d hoped for the promised “plumpness” but it never came and I was forced to use my Avene cream on top of it to ensure I didn’t wake up feeling very very dried out. It is a disappointment but then, I’m post menopausal and on HRT and frankly, need lots of moisture. In a younger skin, it may be sufficient.

@HeraInTheHereAndNow -

I am of a similar vintage and agree absolutely with your comments. It is a shame that there is not a richer, cream formulation for the more desiccated woman.

@rosegoldwatcher... hopefully they’ll develop a more mature skin appropriate product.

I like the packaging and branding but I dislike words like "clean" and " natural" as they are meaningless and imply other products are toxic which they aren't.

For me I would use the Cleanser as a second cleanse after a Balm but when I saw it would sell for £32 this is too expensive in my opinion there are better cleansers on the market. It did seem nice and gentle but nothing outstanding IMO.

The nozzle on my moisturiser broke. Overall I could use the moisturiser if I had lots of hydration in serum format before but it wouldn't be enough for me without.

I can see that these are nice products but nothing wow for me sadly.
