We’re looking for Mumsnet users with at least one child aged 5 to 12 years to test NatWest Island Saver with their child - a fun and educational video game designed to teach children aged 5 to 12 about money management.

Here’s what NatWest has to say: “NatWest Island Saver is the world’s first video game that teaches children all about money. Set on the once idyllic ‘Savvy Islands’, players are tasked with an exciting quest to clean up polluted islands and save the bankimals whilst learning about money along the way. We know that it is crucial for children to develop good money habits at a young age to help them make better financial decisions in the future, and studies have shown that games outperform textbooks in helping children learn fact-based subjects. So, by introducing important money themes such as interest, taxes, loan sharks and debt management through gaming, NatWest Island Saver is the perfect way to help your child become money savvy, without ever feeling like a lesson.”

Island Saver is free to download on iOS, Android, Steam, PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Selected testers will be asked to download the game onto one of the above devices/consoles and have their child play the game over the course of two weeks.

Following testing the game with their child, selected testers will need to give their feedback via a thread on Mumsnet and a short survey. Selected testers who give the required feedback will each receive a £5 Amazon voucher as a thanks for their time.

If you’re interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

We were only having the conversation the other night about how to teach our 6 year old about money and savings. This sounds perfect. Would love to try this with him.

Lifewiththedutsons · 26/03/2021 11:57

I would love my 8 and 9 year old to save their money so this would be a fun way to explain to them.

MamaChan · 26/03/2021 12:13

Fingers crossed 🤞🏾

justamoment · 26/03/2021 12:46

Yes please! Would be great for my v-nearly-10-year-old to think about not immediately spending any birthday/pocket money...

1969angep · 26/03/2021 13:06

Yes please, my 9 year old is (frankly) clueless about money but addicted to games/YouTube. This looks like a brilliant way of combining the two - learning without home even knowing 😉

KTMP16 · 26/03/2021 13:35

I think my 7yr old would love this - what a great idea. My son wont even realise hes learning on the sly haha. Would love to be a tester for this

ProseccoandPizza · 27/03/2021 07:55

I think it would be really useful for my 8 and 10 year olds, we have conversations to explain the difference between debit and credit cards and similar money matters but a wider education via a game would be a great tool for them

pinkspideruk · 31/03/2021 00:50

deffo think this would be great for the 7 yr old as we just started talking about getting her to save some money for our holidays in Sept
