How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Used it either daily or every two days over a fortnight. Usually daily.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

My 7yo son.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

The raised spots (KP) on his upper arms noticeably improved pretty much bff rom first application and continues to improve. It hasn’t been completely eradicated, but almost! My son has ASD and struggled with the tacky feeling on his skin. I think had he been more able to tolerate that, the product would have taken away the KP completely.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Soft and healing.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I will definitely repurchase this product and keep using it on my son’s arms and start using it on my lizard legs. I would 100% recommend this product as a little goes a long way, and it is a better product that things like flexitol or other high urea content creams.

Has anyone here tried this on moderate children's eczema? (Not just the odd mild patch that clears without steroids)

Badabingbadabum · 26/10/2019 17:26

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs. I used it twice a day on my hands and occasionally once a day on my face. I used it on dds dry patches once a day, but not every day.

- Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime? Both me and four year old dd, but mostly me.
- What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy? daughters dry patches really improved and the eczema flare up on my hands calmed down really quickly, without having to use steroid creams.

- After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel? soft, 'plumper' and less itchy.

- Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter? definitely. I was a little surprised at the small tube when it arrived but a little dot of it does all my hands. For dry patches only it would last ages and it has made such a difference.

Can you use this cream for keratosis Pilaris on the face?

3girlsunder3 · 28/10/2019 01:24

I used the Intensive Skin Therapy nightly after my bath or shower.
I have been using it on myself and my daughter.
We have both seen really good results from this cream - we both suffer from keratosis pilaris on our upper arms , the redness snd bumps have pretty much disappeared now.
After the first use my skin felt more supple, my daughter found it a little stingy but not too much so.
I will be buying more of this cream and would not hesitate to recommend it. You only need to use a thin layer as it is quite thick so a little goes a long way but the results on my rash prone skin have been excellent.

blubelle7 · 28/10/2019 13:21

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I used it twice daily on my skin and once daily on my DS, 15 minutes before moisturising
Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
It was part of our daily routine
What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
I hate when people say I saw a difference from the first use as it sets unrealistic expectations for people but I literally saw a difference from the first use. My skin flattened immediately and the cream has even begun to heal my hyperpigmentation.
After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
My skin felt smooth and less bumpy. It worked extremely well.
Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I have even bought the full range online. I'm amazed I didn't know about this having tried everything for my skin

mumcha · 28/10/2019 13:42

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy? It made my skin feel and look more hydrated after a few days.

goteam · 28/10/2019 20:51

How often did you use intensive skin therapy?

Daily after morning shower.

Please describe if you followed a particular routine or adapted the use of product to own needs?

Wouldn't ususlly use body moisturiser daily but did with this.

Did you use intensive skin therapy for yourself or child?

Both

What benefits did you notice?

Soothed skin and calmed sore eczema prone skin

After one use how did your skin feel?

Felt soothed and less irritated.

Would you continue to use or recommend?

Yes

NunoBettencourt · 28/10/2019 21:52

Used product daily or twice daily when remembered. Both me and DD

Used at night and then am if we managed to fit in an application and remembered.

I liked how it made my skin feel. But for DD it didn't help at all. She is very self conscious of the dry skin and keratosis she has but this unfortunately didn't help her at all.

After the first use neither of us really noticed a great difference which disappointed us both. Perhaps we didn't apply enough?

No, I wouldn't recommend this I'm afraid. Although it may be that our review is the anomaly judging on feedback from others. I might say that others have found a benefit and to give it a try.
Thank you for the chance to try it though.

goldenretriever1978 · 29/10/2019 09:52
  1. Morning and night.
  1. For both myself and my daughter, on dry parts of our skin.
  1. Skin softer and less dry/inflamed.
  1. A bit less dry.
  1. Definitely, yes.
AtiaoftheJulii · 29/10/2019 22:57

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Used once or twice a day most days. Just added it in in place of my usual moisturiser.

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

For myself.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

I've been getting some dry scaly eczema-like patches around my eyes, and have been trying various creams on them, with limited success. This has cleared them right up, and then when I missed using it for a couple of days, the dry bits started coming back.

I've been using it on one arm for KP - was a bit disappointed at first as there was no improvement, but after a fortnight I can now see that that arm is looking better than the other.

Also I really like the smell.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Slightly tacky to the touch, but very hydrated.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Yes, have already looked it up and think it's not a bad price.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Once a day after my morning shower. This replaced the usual body lotion I used

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

I used it for myself

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

It was amazingly hydrating even after the first use, and my skin still felt soft and hydrated in the evening, even my troublesome dry elbows and knees. I also noticed a big improvement on the KP on my upper arms

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Beautifully soft and hydrated

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Yes definitely!

myrtleWilson · 31/10/2019 19:57

DD used it every night

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
My teenaged daughter used it for her skin in general and KP specifically
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
She said it was notably softer and reduced visibility of KP, plus not as itchy
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
smoother and not itchy
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
yes she would!
DeRigueurMortis · 01/11/2019 01:23

I was not part of this test group, but bought the product on the basis of responses.

Background: I have eczema. Since childhood, to the point of being hospitalised due to severe outbreaks.

I've "tested" every product under the sun.

My experience is that it's a good soothing moisturiser. It's very thick and would be better suited to a tub than a tube.

It's very expensive for how much product you get.

Upshot is, it's not a miracle cure for eczema, rather just a very expensive emollient.

I've had far better results with Shea butter (that I can buy online in bulk) and oat baths.

FaintlyMacabre · 01/11/2019 10:05

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I first tried it for 2 nights running on my 6 year old DD. She has very dry skin, keratosis pilaris and I think icthyosis as well. She almost always refuses all creams and lotions but was willing to try this! The cream was easy to apply and has a nice smell. After 2 nights she refused any more so I used it on me, once a day for about a week. I have KP but not nearly as bad as her.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime? See above
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy
It does work as a moisturiser but to be honest not noticeably better than a significantly cheaper one I used as a comparator. I asked my husband which arm he thought was smoother/softer and he actually picked the other.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel? Smoother but the cream took a long time to soak in so my skin was a bit sticky for a few hours. The most benefit was to my hands after applying it, they were noticeably smoother but the skin is not particularly dry anyway.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter? I will use it up- won’t take long as the tube is tiny, but won’t be buying it again at the current price. I would buy it as a hand cream if it cost about 1/5 of the price.
Thank you for the opportunity to test this- I had heard good things so was very keen to try it but unfortunately it didn’t work that well for my skin type. I also have no idea how the other testers managed to use it for a fortnight, after a few days of the recommended thick layer application I was struggling to get any more out of the tiny tube!

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Every evening
Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I wanted to use it after a shower but the smell was off putting

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

I asked to be chosen to help my teen who has KP. Unfortunately they wouldn’t use it because of the odd smell. And laziness. Sorry. So I tried it. I have dry skin.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

It’s a thick moisturiser somit does help dry patches but it seems more of a medical cream than a general body lotion

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Sticky for quite a while but then softer

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mums netter?

I can’t get past the odd smell. Baby powder? Nappy cream? It reminds me of something

I think it’s probably good for chapped skin. Maybe less as a general moisturiser.
I’d rather find something with a nicer fragrence or fragrence Free.

AHintOfStyle · 01/11/2019 14:33

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I used it at least once a day after a shower

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Just for me.
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Definite difference. I have kerastasis pilaris which I have managed to cure on my legs with a mixture of other products but not my arms. Hasn't cured my arms but skin feels better on both arms & legs
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Definitely softer
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnett
Yes I am going to continue and will also use for a child with dry skin. Would recommend. Only downside is clinical smell.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
Every evening before bed, after shower (which is every other day)
  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Part of my child's regime but also tried it on myself.
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
My daughter gets dry itchy skin, particularly inside her elbows, and this was completely soothed by the cream.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Comfortable and moisturized.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes for my daughter and would recommend to others with particularly dry skin- but it wasn't necessary for my less dry skin.

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I am terrible at following a routine- I did try to apply it morning and night though, and every night for my dd.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Both - we both have dry skin and eczema

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

It made a huge difference. My dd’s eczema has more or less disappeared. I have horrible cracked hands - the are much improved as is the dry patches on my shins (which got less as I’m lazy)

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Comfortable, soft. Did sting on inflamed
eczema though.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Definitely- need to get more for my horrible feet!!

halcyondays · 06/11/2019 15:07
  1. Used daily, in the evening.
  1. Used for me and my 11 year old dd. We both have very dry skin and she has eczema.
  1. It was very softening and moisturising.
  1. very well moisturised.
  1. Possibly, but daughter wasn't keen on the smell. Also it would depend on the price versus that of similar products.

Thanks for the chance to try Ameliorate.
