I used it each day after showering and a couple of times on my hands as they are particularly dry at the moment.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Mostly for me as when I used it on my daughter she disliked the smell.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Skin felt softer and smoother. Skin stayed moisturised for a long time after application.

Less dry, softer and slightly smoother.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I quite liked the product although the smell isn't that pleasant. It also stung my hands on occasion. I would probably recommend to others.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs. We used it every day but not to a rigid routine. Generally before bedtime with my son's dry skin, though also some times in the morning. I tried it a couple of times at bedtime.
  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime? I used did for mine and my son's skin
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy? Lucas' skin looked visibly better as quickly as the morning after it's first use. The cream is very creamy and left the skin feeling very soft. When I tried to use it at bedtime it made my skin itch/prickle terribly and after a few minutes I washed it back off as it was stopping me from going to sleep.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel? Lucas' skin was much smoother - the dry patches had virtually disappeared and the bumps had gone right down
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter? Yes certainly on Lucas' skin. I would use on my own skin too but definitely not at night as the prickly sensation I got after applying it was too irritating to sleep. I'd stick to daytime application only

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Once a day, before bed.

Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I use a small amount on DS’s arms and cheeks (areas where he has KP) before he puts his PJs on.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

I used it in DS (6).

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

His skin seems to be less itchy - I don’t see him scratching it anywhere near as much. It does also appear to be less bumpy. Hopefully this will continue with time.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

DS’s skin felt moisturised after one use.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I would continue to use it, and I would recommend it. I like the effect it has had on DS’s skin, and it doesn’t feel greasy or sticky when I apply it. I also quite like the smell (although DS was suspicious of it at first!).

Thanks for letting us test it Smile

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs

I followed my own 'routine' which is very ad hoc application of cream when I remember. I used it every ~3 days probably

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Just for myself, I noticed on the packet it was for ages 3+ and my DS with ecema is 2. Also I prefer to stick with the creams prescribed by our GP for him.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

The areas of extreme dry skin, my elbows and feet, we're noticeably better after a single application. I was quite unnerved how nice and soft my elbows were! I was about to type that I didn't notice any real difference in my KP but I've just checked my arms again and there is some improvement. I concentrated on my elbows and feet more so arms probably only got two very light coverage treatments, I migjt go back and give them more in the next week. It'll be good to see how long the effect lasts

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Definitely softer and less flaky / itchy

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Depending on price etc, probably

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy?
My 11 year old daughter and I used it once a day in the evening - mornings are a bit hectic in our house!

Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I put the cream on her dry, bumpy upper arms just before she got into bed and at the same time applied some to my horribly rough and dry elbows.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

As above - daughter and me.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Much smoother and softer on initial application but this effect continued. My daughter has had bumpy red chicken skin since she was a toddler. Within two days of using Ameliorate, her bumps had gone down, by day 5 they had gone! Her arms are now soft and smooth. Really amazing. My elbows also feel and look much better.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Very hydrated, smooth
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes

Used alongside aveeno
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Instantly moisturised. Stopped dry areas bleeding which normally happens with bad eczema areas.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes I would use and recommend if the price is reasonable.

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I used it every evening on the back of my hands. I have very dry skin there.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
I used it for myself. My daughter has dry skin but was reluctant to use a new product.
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
It really helped on my hand, didn't irritate it further which other brands do.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Softer, less itchy.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes I will continue and would recommend.
malaguena · 24/10/2019 13:18

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I used it everyday, in the morning as a replacement for my usual moisturiser, and then on dry spots whenever needed.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
I used it on the whole family, as we all tend to have dry skin patches, especially this time of year.
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
The skin definitely felt moisturised and it help with dry patches. It feels less flaky and itchy. The cream is very thick and rich so it feels like a screen.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Moisturised, slightly sticky.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes I would! It feels a bit early to see long term benefits but so far I am satisfied with it. The only issue is that because it is so rich, it doesn’t get absorbed by the skin as quick as other creams.
SoVeryLost · 24/10/2019 14:13

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
Once a day at bed time for DS and when needed for me.
Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Part of my DS’s skincare routine. Currently my excema is under control so I haven’t needed to use it very much.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
He skin felt a lot smoother after the first couple of applications and it didn’t feel heavy on my skin.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
It felt hydrated and smoother.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
For DS yes as it’s the only thing that has worked on his legs.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 24/10/2019 14:28

- How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
Twice a day, morning and evening

- Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Both, 3 of us struggle with our skin one DD is lucky enough not to need to use this, but was disappointed not to be able to take part in the test 😂

- What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Skin felt smoother, less flaking, looked paler, not as itchy and not as dry

- After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Interestingly, we noticed a difference after the first use, I did wonder if its just that we were looking for one (sort of placebo effect?) but with you asking this question I'm guessing other people have noticed it too. We mainly thought that the skin felt smoother, but also that it was not as dry/flakey/itchy

- Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes we will continue to use it, I would definitely recommend it to other people, but I know from past experience that things like this aren't always a cure all and what works wonders for one does nothing for another. So I'd say it's definitely worth trying and it's worked for us, but don't pin all of your hopes on it because it's really disappointing when it's not the right product for you

pongopig · 24/10/2019 17:15

- How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used it every night on the back of my upper arms and on my child’s cheeks nearly every night.

- Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
I wouldn’t normally routinely use products on my arms or on my child’s cheeks but I wanted to see if there was any success with treating the keratosis pilaris that we both suffer from

- What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

The KP is much improved after two weeks. It’s not completely gone but I will continue using Ameliorate. I’m very pleased with the results as I have tried many other products and exfoliants.

- After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
I found the cream quite greasy but that was ok and worth it for the results. One night I tried it on my cuticles. I wouldn’t use as a hand cream in the daytime but it did an amazing job overnight to moisturise.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?*

Yes Smile

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used it on my chronically dry hands, which get so much worse as the weather gets colder. I used it as and when needed, at least once a day.

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Used it on myself primarily, but also wanted to try it on my 4yo son’s upper arms, as he has keratosis pilaris.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

I noticed a marked improvement in the condition of the skin on my hands, especially between my fingers which can be very dry, scaly and cracking.

My son’s upper arm was less rough and bumpy to the touch the morning after his first application.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

I was impressed that the product was so thick and clung to the skin after application. It was also pleasingly non-greasy, which is a huge bugbear of mine with most hand creams - I can’t sit around for half an hour waiting for the greasiness to subside.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I was very pleasantly surprised by the formulation and would recommend it provided the product is affordable.

Scootergrrrl · 24/10/2019 18:35
  1. I used the cream every evening before bed and my daughter, who has KP, used it on her upper arms after every shower. She used it once on her face but said it stung a little bit and she probably wouldn't use it on her face again.

  2. We both used the cream.

  3. I noticed that my skin was much softer and less dry, and looked better (less blotchy and uneven) My daughter noticed an improvement in her KP but it didn't disappear completely.

  4. After one use, my skin felt much softer and more hydrated.

  5. I would continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy if the price was reasonable and I would probably recommend it, dependent again on price, to others.

AddictedToEatingRadleysBrain · 24/10/2019 22:22

1- How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
Used first thing in the morning and before getting ready for bed most days but some days I forgot to apply it and only used at night.

2- Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime? What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Used for myself and my DD(4). My skin didn’t have many visible signs of skin problems at the time of starting using this instead of my usual moisturiser apart from a couple of smaller open patches but I could feel it getting ready to erupt. DD(4) has visible dry skin, eczema and raised red spots. Both felt a big difference in our skin and certainly much better than I was expecting! DD(4) often cries at bedtime because of how itchy her skin was and begged for a cold can of fizzy drink to soothe the skin (not to drink but to apply like an ice pack to the skin rather than scratching). It was only after several days that I realised she’d been going straight to sleep without needing the cold can and she’d not once said she was itchy. When I asked her she said it was sometimes itchy but not bad and when I checked her skin the was a visible difference. My skin was much more supple and the eczema that I thought was ‘brewing’ for a flare up stopped without the need for steroid creams.

3- After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
After just one day of using my skin was much more supple and I could almost feel the moisture inside my skin which is a novelty for me. I didn’t really notice a difference to DD(4) skin until I realised she’d not been crying about being itchy and when I checked her skin seemed much younger, like it should be at 4 years old, rather than the dry, flaky, scaly, blotchy skin she was used to. I hadn’t expected much difference if I’m honest but there has been an easily noticeable difference for sure for both of us.

4- Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
I will definitely be continuing to use this cream until it is empty but have to admit that I’ll only be using it on DD after it is finished because I am not in a position to purchase this for both of us due to the cost. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is worth every penny and some, but I just cannot afford that price point at the moment. I will and already have recommended it to others, both friends and family and also fellow Mumsnetters. This is one of those products that could make a huge difference to people. My only note of caution would be that, like many other creams (including prescription emollients) it can burn or sting when applied to open areas of skin like eczema. I would definitely recommend bearing with the stinging though because it will definitely help it but it can be uncomfortable if on open skin. Like I said though, this often happens to me with even the mildest of creams so it’s not the cream and it definitely helps stop it flaring up.

Thank you for allowing my DD and I to be a part of this trial. I can’t believe that thanks to Mumsnet and this trial I now have a 4 year old going to sleep without crying in pain from being itchy - thank you!

Miaow1234 · 25/10/2019 15:42

I used on an evening when I’d been in the shower.
I used for both of us.
I noticed a reduction in dryness and skin was much Clearer and less irritated after the first couple of applications.
After one use it felt softer to touch.
Yes I would continue to use as I saw a good benefit.

HoneyandSpice · 25/10/2019 16:40

How often did I use it?
A couple of times a day. As a moisturiser on my dry / scaly forehead and a couple of times a day on DDs small patches of dry skin

Did I use on myself or child?
Used it on both of us.

What benefits did I see?
Immediately smoother, less dry skin. I found the texture and smell lovely. What a delight it was to use something that wasn't in any way greasy!
Sadly it made DD itch, so unfortunately not a total thumbs up from her. However... I'm going to persevere. As I think she's just so used to other creams irritating her, its maybe psychological.

After one use, I noticed the difference in my skin being smoother and less dry.

Would I continue to use and / or recommend?
Yes.

jitterbugintomybrain · 25/10/2019 17:10

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? On a daily basis
Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs. I used it when my skin/ my son's was feeling dry

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime? Both
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Our skin felt much softer after use.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel? Not as dry and sore
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter? Yes I definitely would
Use this cream and would recommend it.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used it daily after my shower in the same way I use my regular moisturiser.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

I used it myself. My dd tried it once and refused to use it again.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Honestly I didn't find any over my usual moisturiser, in fact I'd say it did less and left my skin feeling greasy almost? Like using a silicone primer or something. The feeling was still the same on my legs by the end if te day when I took my tights off. I'm not sure if it's deliberate or not but I didn't enjoy it.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Coated

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

No. It was incredibly thick and hard to spread over my skin and took a couple of decent hand washes to be able to do anything else whilst waiting for it to soak in to the rest of my skin a bit.

Sagradafamiliar · 25/10/2019 19:40
  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Everyday, after showering.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

For myself.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

This is brilliant stuff. It's sorted out a particularly stubborn patch of dermatitis and is great to use generally.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Smoother and 'cared for'. A little goes a long way.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Yes, to both.
Thank you for sending me this to try.

Fretfulparent · 26/10/2019 08:57

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs

Daily at night

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Teenage daughters keratosis pilaris on upper outer arms for 3 weeks.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Pleasant to use but made no difference to redness or bumpiness of the KP

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Felt the same but I would not have described it as dry before using the product.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

No not for keratosis pilaris but would recommend for dry skin
