Twice a day, after shower in the morning and in the evening on upper arms.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Just me.

My skin felt smoother and keratosis pilaris was improved.

Softer and smoother.

Yes, although I did think it had a slightly chemical smell under the fresh fragrance, not exactly like fake tan but a bitt similar. It wasn’t that bad though.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
We used it daily, in the evenings.

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Both my dd and I used it.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Both our skin was noticeably softer. Unfortunately it didn’t really touch my very dry and scaly patches of skin or reduce dd’s KP.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
My dd’s skin felt fine but it stung on my skin. Not as much as Protopic, though! We both liked the scent.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Even though it wasn’t that great for me or dd I would still recommend to try it as everybody’s skin is different.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Both
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
The redness was reduced and there’s been no new flare ups
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Soft, moisturised, smoother and less itchy
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow
Mumsnetter? Yes to both questions Thank you for the opportunity to test this product. I had been thinking of trying it for myself and DD so this was perfect timing for us. After trialling it I’ve ordered some more. We both really love the smell too

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used it twice daily on my problem areas.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Both.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Skin became softer, less scaly and itchy.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Hydrated and soft. Less scaly. I had expected it to be greasy, but it melted into my skin.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Definitely. My only concern is that one of my problem areas is between my nose and mouth, and there is a warning to avoid lips. But it's fab everywhere else!

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used it in the evenings, after showering
Same for the 4 year old

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

For myself and my child

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Skin was definitely softer, however it was on par with other moisturisers I use such as Diprobase, not particularly better

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

It was definitely smoother and softer

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I would use it again, I’m not sure if I would purchase, maybe if it was on offer. I liked the texture. I was disappointed in the fact that it was heavily scented, and it did sting on initial application. I would probably recommend it

winniesanderson · 19/10/2019 12:26
  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Daily after a bath or shower. Which is when I'd usually apply a cream or lotion.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Both

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Really improved my child's dry skin on her limbs. Stopped them being so itchy too. For myself I noticed the tops of my arms where I normally have keratosis pilaris felt much smoother and the appearance does seem to have improved already.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Very smooth and soft.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Yes to both. It's had a better effect on my upper arms and the appearance of the keratosis pilaris than anything else I've tried.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

Used it every day, last thing at night.
DS used it twice daily.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Both.

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

I have incredibly dry skin. The type of skin that will absorbe rich oils in moments. My skincare routine consists of a lot is active ingredients but I was missing a good final night balm. This filled in that gap perfectly.

I use retinol and noticed that my skin felt smoother and more hydrated after applying the balm.

DS is constantly outdoors at the mercy of the bitter Scottish weather. He gets wind chapped skin and this worked a treat on it.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Smoother and hydrated.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Absolutely. Very impressed with it and will purchase it.

Thanks for letting me test Ameliorate. Here are my findings:

How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I have been using the product everyday after showering on the driest parts of my body which are my elbows and legs. I have also been using the intensive skin therapy to treat some dry patches on my toes and I apply whenever my skin needs a hydration boost.

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

My son and I have both been trialling the product as my son struggles with eczema on his hands and elbows whereas for me it is all about dry skin.

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

My dry skin responded really well to the cream and I found my skin kept improving after each use. My son’s eczema patches improved too but I think he needs to stick with it to see real benefits.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
It felt more hydrated and healthier. Dry patches showed definite signs of improvement even after one use.

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Yes definitely! I think this will be a product I will buy again and again. I am really impressed.

fishnships · 19/10/2019 22:48

I used the cream once a day, after showering.
I used it on my keratosis pilaris on upper arms.
There was a noticeable benefit. The cream soothed my skin and bumps were much less obvious.
After one use my skin felt softer.
I will continue to use the tube, but may not buy another. I have reservations as I found the smell of urea off-putting and the cream was thick and not easily absorbed. It was more effective than most creams I have tried so I would recommend it to others.

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
I used it for myself on my forehead where my eczema was flaring due to the change in weather - I used it every morning instead of my normal moisturiser. I also used it on my 5year old where he had dry patches, just as and when
  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Both for myself and for my 5 year old

Testers, please answer the following questions:

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy?
twice a day every day

Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
Used after washing on my daughters face

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
For my daughters dry eczema prone skin
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
Daughters skin looked much more moisturised and smooth
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Skin felt more moisturised and comfortable
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes in fact I would buy it now instead of Aveeno for my daughter and may even use it as a night cream for myself.

My only other comment would be that the cream is very thick and would be better in a pot rather than a tube - we struggled to get it out of the tube at times

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used the product twice a day (morning and evening) in my upper arms for 5 days.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Myself

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

KP bumps significantly diminished, appearance improved (less dimpled looking), moisturised skin.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

It felt softer, but the KP bumps were still there.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I would both use and recommend, with caveats:

I dislike the strong, powdery fragrance. Thus would not recommend to sensitive friends, or use as part of my everyday routine. However, I would use it as an intensive treatment for a week or two, for exs if KP flaring up or before a big event or holiday where my arms would be on show.

Also - it is thick and doesn’t have much play time, and leaves the skin slightly tacky for hours. So it’s best suited IMO as an overnight treatment if like me you prefer daytime products to sink in undetectably.

Saying all this, it really is an effective treatment for KP. If it didn’t have fragrance, I’d use it every evening. It’s probably great on feet.

quizqueen · 20/10/2019 20:28

I used this cream after every shower for myself only. It is extremely thick and globby, and I found I had to massage the skin a lot to rub it in. Because of its thickness, it is only really suitable for small areas. I used it on my scar from having a knee replacement and also my elbows. I think it is no better or worse than any other cream I have used, to be honest. It is unsuitable for somewhere like the skin on the lower leg which, in my case, seems to get quite dry and itchy because its thickness means it doesn't cover a large surface area without having to continually reapply another blob. Also, I found the smell quite unpleasant. I'm afraid I wouldn't buy it. A fancy Latin sounding name, but the product doesn't match up to it. Sorry, manufacturers, I know that's not what you wanted to hear!

  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.
After a shower in the am and in front of the TV pm.
  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Child's skincare on her leggies and for me for my bumpy KP
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
It really smoothed out her rough legs and seemed to make a difference to my KP but I'd need to use it for longer to be sure about that.
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
Softer and it absorbed really quickly
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
Yes absolutely. I liked the light scent and the texture is lovely as well as it being effective
MildDrPepperAddiction · 21/10/2019 09:44
  • How often did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy? Please describe if you followed a particular routine, or if you adapted the use of the product to your own needs.

I used this once or twice per day, usually morning & evening.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?

Both

  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

The first application badly stung her skin and had to be washed off. I didn't try again after that, just returned to our usual skincare regime.

  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Soft, but slightly greasy.

  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

Probably not. It's a nice cream, but I didn't notice any really different results and so I'll return to my usual cream.

Jux · 21/10/2019 18:37

As and when, but on average more than twice a day. No particular routine.

  • Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Me
  • What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?
My KP has smoothed out quite a bit in the areas where I used the cream and does feel softer
  • After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?
I put it on my forearm as soon as I received the cream; then I didn't use it again for about 4 days. My skin felt softer and smoother immediately and that continued without further treatment for nearly 3 days.
  • Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?
If it's not too expensive then definitely. I would certainly like to continue using it.

Every day. Used it post shower after exfoliating.

Did you use the Intensive Skin Therapy for yourself or as part of your child's skincare regime?
Both

What benefits did you notice to yours or your child's skin when using the Intensive Skin Therapy?

Not much to be honest. It was good and made our skin feel nice and soft, but there was hardly enough to use on both of us for more than a few days.

After one use of the Intensive Skin Therapy, how did your skin feel?

Soft

Would you continue to use the Intensive Skin Therapy and/or recommend to a fellow Mumsnetter?

I would if it was reasonably priced. I wasn't too fond of the smell and felt like a little doesn't go very far so I could see this being a repeat expense.
