NOW CLOSED

MyBuilder are looking for some more Mumsnet users who need work done in their home from now onwards to find a tradesperson using the MyBuilder service - whether it’s for a smaller job like getting the boiler serviced, or a bigger project like landscaping your garden.
This service test is open to: UK MNers who have a job that needs to be done by a tradesperson

Here’s what MyBuilder have to say: “We know it can be a hassle searching for available tradespeople. At MyBuilder, our unique match-making process makes it easy to find the right person for your project. When you post a job on MyBuilder, it’s sent to local tradespeople with the right experience, who express an interest in the job if they’re free to take it on. You can then review the profiles of all the interested tradespeople, looking at their experience, photos of their previous work and all the feedback left by previous customers. You then shortlist all the tradespeople you want to speak with before you’re put in touch.

We’re picky at MyBuilder, and turn down almost half of tradespeople who apply to join. Each tradesperson goes through a trade specific evaluation to meet our high standards, because our reputation is only as good as our tradespeople. Our feedback system ensures that tradespeople are rewarded for good work and kept accountable. Our tradespeople relish the opportunity to build an outstanding reputation on MyBuilder, and it’s customer feedback which makes that possible.”

Selected testers will be required to:
- Post your job on MyBuilder & input details of your job that needs doing
- Local tradespeople who are interested in your job will respond through MyBuilder
- Compare profiles of the tradespeople who are interested in your job and shortlist the ones you would like to speak with
- At this point, contact details will be exchanged and you can arrange for your selected tradespeople to visit you, assess the work that needs doing and give you a quote.

Please note that if you have a job that will take longer than the testing period of 4 weeks you are still eligible to take part, as this service test is on your experience of the MyBuilder site and service rather than the tradespeople themselves.

Selected testers will be required to leave feedback on their experience of the MyBuilder service on both a thread on Mumsnet and by filling in a short survey. Everyone who leaves the required feedback will receive a £40 voucher and also be entered into a prize draw where 3 testers will win £100 voucher each of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

When is the test period? I want to try and find a gardener ASAP so don’t want to have to wait a week or so for the test period to begin.

torthecatlady · 27/03/2019 18:42

Signed up! We have so many jobs that need doing, it was hard to pick just one!

Cismyfatarse1 · 27/03/2019 19:49

Is this UK wide? Am in remote parts so it might not work as they often don't. Can you confirm @EllieMumsnet

fia101 · 27/03/2019 20:12

I've used mybuilder.com on 3 or 4 occasions now and the plumber I found on it is now my go to plumber. The reviews are incredibly useful.

Elijah3112 · 28/03/2019 10:51

EllieMumsnet · 28/03/2019 12:14

Hi @Wrongdissection This recruitment will be live for roughly 2 weeks so the actual testing won't be starting for another 2-3 weeks Smile

EllieMumsnet · 29/03/2019 10:21

Hi @Cismyfatarse it really just depends on if there are any local tradespeople in your area, so maybe have a search and if there are then sign up Smile
